there's still a need for tags... 'she' there could be a person being spoken to, just as well as the speaker... and doing what you advise throughout a story/novel,instead of the virtually invisible/unnoticed 'she said' would be annoying as bleep to the reader and get your mss tossed by agents/editors/publishers...
