Closed Voting Voting is CLOSED for contest #182 - theme: "Muscular"

Discussion in 'Bi-Weekly Short Story Contest Archives' started by GingerCoffee, Nov 26, 2015.

    Contest #182
    Theme: "Muscular" courtesy of @BookLover

Contest story entries can be found HERE.

We have 10 entries in this contest! The winner will be revealed in 2.5 weeks and the winner thread will be stickied until the next contest's winner is crowned. No more entries are allowed in this contest.

Entries are listed in the poll in the order posted.

Voting ends in 2.5 weeks, Sunday, Dec. 13th, 2015 ~5:00 pm Pacific Time.

I encourage authors to vote. While it is controversial, it remains acceptable in the short story contest to vote for yourself. I encourage you to vote honestly. In the name of good sportsmanship only vote for yourself if you have read all the other stories and given them your honest evaluation.

Consider how the author has responded to the theme, as well as the quality of the writing and overall impression of the story in making your decision.

Read for pleasure, learning, and to vote.
Make someone's day, vote for their story!

Honestly, this one was very hard to vote. There are several good ones in there, and thanks to all who submitted! :)

Agree. Ten entries total and several deserving of recognition. Many good writers on this forum.

I knew this theme would attract a lot of entries. It's interesting to see the varied response. An interesting but difficult choice to make.

About 2 weeks, 10 stories, 12 votes to date. Is anybody reading these stories besides those who wrote them and a couple other loyal forum devotees?

I read each and every one of them. I started reading them as they were posted, before voting was even open. That's the easiest way to keep up. Great stories, tough decision when it came to voting.

I read them as they were posted as well--for the most part. Now 13 votes. Too bad that there is so little interest.

We'll get a few more. I haven't voted yet. If we don't have more by Saturday, I'll bring out the secret weapon. :supercheeky:

Damn! There are two stories I've narrowed it down to and I just can't decide. :superthink:

Less than 4 hours to make someone's day. :D

Or to create a tie and force a runoff. ;)

Well, it happened, a tie has been created. :p

Two more hours, step up to the plate, break the tie or make it a three-way. You hold the power. :supercool:

We have a tie. I am reopening the voting until 32 minutes after midnight PDT tonight in the hopes a few people needed a little more time to vote.

The three-way tie broke but now there's a two-way tie again.

    You guys are great. :D

I'm going to bed. If there is not a winner by half past midnight, I plan a three-way runoff tomorrow. I think it's only fair to include the story that was in the running at the time of the official contest end.
