When you PM someone, and you want to give them a link to your thread, how do you do it? Also inside a post Do you just cut and paste from your Internet tool bar, or is there a way to do that from within the site?
In the toolbar (on this site) there is an icon of the globe with a chain below it. You use this button. If you want to post a link in its full entirety then you just click on the icon and post the address: http://www.afl.com.au/. You don't even need to use the 'Insert Link' button when doing this, simply post the link and the site should pick it up as a URL. To make a word in your comment a clickable link then highlight the word, press the globe icon, insert the link and then post.
Make sure that when you do this, you don't double up the http:// part of it, which is automatically prefilled into the link target dialog.
Click on 'Post Reply'. Now you have a toolbar with icons above where you input your text. On the bottom row around the centre is the globe. Move your cursor onto it and it says 'Insert Link'. Then follow the previous instructions. In 'Quick Reply' it's the sixth icon from the left.
