Through the years the world of Laneya has been dieing, and the only thing keeping it from the brink of collapse is song. Laneya you see is a very unique planet as it has feelings, and emotions... but in it's ages it has fallen victim to loneliness, and sadly the only thing keeping it from death, is song. Laneya loves the harmony found within song. Unfortunately the power of song has been with Laneya for thousands of years and it truly is losing it's touch. Laneya can now no longer find happiness within song, she only sees the sadness, and while the people know not of Laneyas human qualities, they are entirely aware of her state of emergency.

However, there is one other way to save the planet that is Laneya. Deep within her core, is the enchanted harp that played her first song, and though it's user burned to death while playing it, Laneya's happiness flourished the planet for nearly a million years. Sadly know one knows not of this harp nor it's existance. However the people of Laneya are desperate and are sending nearly fifty teams to the core of Laneya to find something, anything to lift her spirts and hold planet to a state of serenity.

Hey there! If this is still active (last post looks like it was done a week ago), I'll jump in! Here's my character...

    Character Name:
    Suran Derikk
    Character Race: Human (Male)
    Character Age: 23

    Character Class: Wizard
Character's Powers: Suran knows several spells of varying effects and potencies. He has yet to discover many of the higher points of magic, but he performs very well in what he does understand, and he learns very quickly. He is also a skilled alchemist.
Character Looks: Suran is tall and thin with a handsome-looking face. He has cold, steel blue eyes, and longish brown hair that falls over a red headband.
Special Attributes: None to speak of, besides his spellcasting and alchemical skills. Also, see the entries below for information about the disease he carries.
Character's Armor: None to speak of. His robe is the most armor he has.
Character's Weapon: A quarterstaff tipped on the end with a silver eagle's claw. He also carries a dagger. He is not a physical fighter, but prefers to use his magic.
Character's Attire: Suran wears a black cloak and hood almost constantly. Underneath his robes, he wears a simple tunic and pants. He has a large pouch draped over his shoulder by a strap. This contains his spellbook. He also has several smaller pouches on him that contain alchemical ingredients and spell components.
Character's Mutations, abnormal qualities: Suran's most abnormal quality is the disease he carries. He contracted it as a child. Slowly and painfully, it is eating away at his insides. He lives in nearly constant pain, but he has learned to cope with it. At times, the pain grows in intensity to unbelievable levels. He knows an alchemical mixture that can ease his pain for a while, but there has been no discovered cure. It is this cure that he hopes to find on this journey.
Character's Personality: Suran's constant pain can make him sharp-tongued and irritable. He is also frustrated with himself, and sees only his failures. He knows what he can do, and he knows he does it well, but he torments himself for not being able to do more. Beneath his bitter shell, though, he is very lonely, and desperately wants someone to be close to him. From time to time, this will show through in a small act of kindness, or by some meaningful statement he makes.
Character's Background: Suran was born to a peasant family. He lived in the shadow of his older brother all his life. Silus seemed to be a master of everything, and always successful. As a small child, Suran wanted to be just like him. But when he was ten years old, he contracted a disease that slowly wasted away his insides. The pain made him bitter throughout his teenage years, and he grew hatefully envious of his older brother. The one thing that kept Suran sane was the study of magic. He threw himself into it, studying on his own from the libraries he could walk to. At eighteen, he tried to join a mage's academy, but failed the entrance exam. Now tormented in two hells, he began again to study on his own, searching desperately for a cure for his pain. When the call went out to join with a group that would go to new, uncharted places, he saw his chance, and leapt at it.

    Character Name: Lirone Charel
    Character Race: Sprite
    Character Age: 19

    Character Class: Student
Character's Powers: Sprightly things. Occasional invisibility, flying (but not incredibly high, mind you), electrical jolts, but nothing too powerful or too supernatural.
Character Looks: Straight, short, smooth black hair which is always falling into her face. Orange-brown eyes that shine when she's happy or angry, but otherwise are slightly dull. 100 pounds, 5'0", very slim, but fit. Long, strong fingernails which grow at an alarming rate when broken.
Special Attributes: She looks mostly like a petite human, aside from her pointed sprite ears.
Character's Armor: No armor, usually. Slows down her flying.
Character's Weapon: She carries a javelin about as long as her height, and about as light as an empty water bottle. She throws with great precision.
Character's Attire: Generally relaxed, earthy clothing. Colors like the leaves in Autumn.
    Character's Mutations, abnormal qualities: -

Character's Personality: A grumpy dissposition. She's a powerful little sprite, with a quick wit and a short fuse. She isn't a sweet girl, but she's far from evil once you get to know her.
Character's Background: As a child, she got into a lot of trouble, and was finally sent off to finishing school. She hated it there, and only used the opportunity to get into more trouble. When asked why she played such cruel tricks on the children, she'd simply shrug and say: "What else is there to do here?" As she got older and matured, she stopped playing tricks for no reason. She would, however, make those who offended her pay, and most of them deserved it, but when asked why, instead of telling her side of the story, she'd narrow her eyes, raise one eyebrow, scowl and say: "Because I can." She believed that telling them the person had hurt her would show weakness. She often lies and barely ever tells the whole truth, but in the finishing school she did have one friend. She was a blonde-haired, blue-eyed, tall, elf named Charelle who took Lirone under her wing. She was the only person Lirone really opened up to, aside from her adoptive father. Some people tried to be like Lirone in hopes that she'd respond to that, but only Charelle tried treating her nicely, with such a genuine niceness that Lirone had to like her. One day, Charelle got sick, and she kept saying that it was the weight of the world pulling her down. She was treated like a demensia patient and died of her unknown disease. Lirone stopped talking to anyone for a long time, and many people appreciated that. Her dad took her home, and would talk to her every day (an actual talk, not just "hey, here's your dinner") and eventually he got a response. When the mission made itself known, he thought it would be good for Lirone to go. She scowled at him when he presented the idea, and said: "Why would I want to do that?" He replied:
    "Because you can."
