I've been Googling for hours and I'm starting to get frustrated. I need to know if anyone knows of any legit 17th-18th century (aka the Golden Age of Piracy) pirate ports that people would go to to drink, find girls, find ships, crew, supplies, etc. Thanks!
Port Royal in Jamaica is the most famous 17th-18th century pirate port in the modern world Maybe you could have your story based around there?
For the better part of it's first 10 years the United States supported, and even housed many Pirates as they would raid British shipping; this quickly changed however, and many Pirates marched to the Gallows because of it without even being aware any law had changed untill it was too late.
