    The heavy sunset

    Low sun breaks the horizon,
    Burnt red and flaming gold.
    For a gun and amo,
    I simply sold my soul.

    I brought into this landscape,
    Charred and dressed in flame.
Raised my rifle at my rival
    Without knowing his name,
    Took his life.
A mindless dog. I entered into game.
    Now I stand in shadow,
like the others hollowed out with shame.

    Your sieze and comand fantasys,
Invade my mind, a guilty little disease.
I watch the childen playing allies,
Inside me my heart begins to freeze.

Can you not see what is on your Television,
Instead of what you wish to be in your head?
I plead to you don't take pleasure,
Think about how much the people have bled.
There are no sides in this, just foolish children being mislead.

I will always be at war one way or another,
    Fighting for our freedom,
Or the confusion of a mother.
Who has lost her children to my hands,
Knows me as the devil in her lands,
Despises me and wishes I were dead.
Her thoughts of me by visions feed,
Of corpses naked laying face down,
Of victims washed in rain on muddy ground.

Yes If i were a picture,
They would paint me a black void.
Still consider me a face of honour,
Though war has left my soul broken and paranoid.

I Used To Be A Kindergaten Teacher

Just a few men put here to protect you,
waiting for the sun to set on this old war,
I used to be a kindergarten teacher.
Never seen a dead body before.

Now they are all around me,
like a clear cut of fallen trees.
    Grown men reduced to weeping;
staring into hell, on fallen knees.

How can we go home knowing,
what is going on in this place.
I do not feel like a hero,
shooting an 8 year old in the face.

    I desperatly need a shower,
    blood splatter sprayed like mace.
Drink a bucket of cold hard liquor,
there's a dead boy I need to erase.

    Arriving to my quarters,
a single letter addressed to me.
I pick it up an smell it...
    smelling summer-time sweet pea.

My heart twists at who I left behind,
my kids and my beautiful wife.
I miss my familys fun-loving laughter,
I miss my old tame life.

I try reading the letter sent to me,
and frown at my shaking hands.
**** like this doesn't happen in our country,
    only in Irans.

    Honour The Fallen

In the sunset cluster a section four short,
Newly bound they seek orders and answers.

Out of the gloomy setting speaks clarity.
‘For Queen and Country ’ the sole, stark retort.

And the task and duty became evident,
Moreover they melt into but one,
Ever thereafter, the war had been wo-

Okay, nice job guys. Hull is doing alright, apparently, and should be back to do this...someday.
Till then, if this doesn't get off the ground, PM any mod, and we'll get it going. But, do tell us how to do it.

    Silently I sit;
    say not a word.
    For just over the rise
    the vultures lurk.
Like sharks to a wounded fish,
    in an ocean vast;
sweet smell of blood, hightened senses.

    Fill the night with desparity,
as the candles flicker in the breeze.
Soldier fallen a midst a war
and on the hill his brothers in arms stand,
    under a fire covered sky,
lit from the heat of the searing sun
as it rises over the soldiers crest.

    A blood stained horizon
lights a body strewn battle field.
    Silver daggers, blood stained red;
from the life force of fallen innocence.

We pray thee carries his own shield home,
not walk towards that unholy night,
    leaving yet another widow;
with an unborn babe and another on her side.
Never to be graced with the warmth
of a fathers loving and embracing heart.

    Courage Of Brothers

    Courage Of Brothers

Though the sun set looks like a place of peace and beauty
We stand here tired and stained with dirt
    Though my hands are dry
And we watch the sky change
    We went through hell

The fields once green now lay stained red
The sky was blue then grey now yellow like the cannons
    That came from the east
    We stand here
    We stand as Brothers
    Each has shared the pain
    Each has taken a life
    So lord forgive us
    We were but Brothers
    We stood as one
    And honour the fallen

    We honour our Brothers
We honour the Courage of Brothers
    We stand here
We are lost souls but for now we can sleep
    Until dawn comes
We will rise and kill again
    So lord forgive us
We fight for peace and we fight for freedom
Yet we stand here in this place as Brothers
    Honouring the Courage of Brothers

    The First Bird Sings

    The First Bird Sings

    The first bird sings
    The sunset is yellow
    The dawn is grey
    The flags stand still
    The night will be haven
    As the first bird sings

As the first bird of dawning sings
So shall the first bullet screech
As the first casualty of war
    Praise to his innocence
    Smoke in our eyes
    Tears down our cheeks

The time for rest is upon
    Our shoulders
    To the dusk of evening
    None shall be left behind
    Memories of friends lost

We stand in our circle giving the rites
    Of battles to come
    The planning of early attack
    In the minds of men
    Not yet broken
But never to meet peace in mind again

    Forever to witness Nightmares
Stand forth with the rites of friendship forged
    Locked together they stand
    Watching the dusk
Waiting for dawns first birds song.

The polished metal weaponry I hold within my hand
Helps ensure the freedom of the world.
The boots I wear upon my feet have seen such distant lands
They help me to forever cherish home.

    That which I'm fighting for.
    Not just mine, yours.
    Your neighbor. Your brother.
That man that cuts your lawn and foliage that you don't even grace with a smile.

The muscles there beneath my skin have grown in such short time.
And for your sake will continue to grow.
The blood that's spilled because of me will haunt my memories.
But through it all I'd do it once again.

    For you.
Though you say that I don't belong here.
You say that I'm just wasting your tax dollars and killing innocent people.
    That may be true.
But you are something worth dying for.
