    Mariner's Curse

    If I am so wicked,
    may God strike me down.

    And see, I'm still here...
    Notta scratch to be found.

    But lives I have taken,
    and the sorrow I caused.

    Guilt scratching my soul
    till break and blood loss.

    A metaphorical bird,
    digging deeper each peck.

    This albatross hang dead,
    and cursed 'round my neck.

    Albatross
    Legendary Albatross
    flying from extinction
you know the size of the pacific
    and the nuances of blue
Baudelaire is riding on your back
    and together
you search for souls of lost sailors
    arrows from James Cook
    trying to shoot you down
    But you are too great
    to become simple tunes
    carved from Maori tribes

    Legendary Albatross
    sloppily taxidermied
    in forgotten educational hallways
    by lonely biology teachers
Dust is sleeping on your back
    and without me
    your mighty cloudy wings
    are frozen in petrification
    they pulled you down
    Because they were too heavy
    for aerial daydreams
    and common altitude

    Sincerely,
Your maker of doom, the Albatross.

An Ode to such, the greatest squid!
A tentacle short of the greatest bid
You're feast was short not yours alone
But mine, a treat, of a golden throne

'Tis a seat such of yours,
    to eat the smaller folk,
    but they endure.
Yet, the highest point in all the sea
Still is no match for thee

Fore I stride in a similar blue
But quite unlike, the likes of you
I dive, I soar, I wait to catch
the greatest squid, of all, alas!

    The Alba Off Tross

    creature of else
do you take yee as far as Man,
Island of shetlands brass and grass,
to only find a bark to wage your reckless
    quests,
    and alas
    you fall in vain
your callous acts arth duly stained!?

    do you seek rogues
aboard the light houses of the souths
when boats afloat in awe of moats,
    a'stood their foes
along the silence of the nights?

    your flights are tied
    ageeing and fast
    against the tides
    the meddleys of the seas,

    deflect your wings
    harsh are the flints
    thrown at your swings!

    marooned
    you fleece is warped,
    seek other traps
    afar from skies
    oceans and havens in between.

    Let Go of Cordless Tentacles

Like the albatross’ tons of misery
    A stalemate on the conscience
Who would be the sacrificial lover
First to forfeit self and emotion
    Dead to each other’s affection
    Like scaled off skin ineffective
Love was dead to us both
    Its tentacles gripped
    Held the dregs of emotion
    Breaking up was a breeze
    Letting go, the withdrawal symptoms
    Of drug addiction’s convulsiveness
To wean a dead love’s grasp
A drowning man’s clutch is gentler
    Magnetic voices and emotions
    Pulled to powerful force field
    To cling needlessly, purposelessly
A dead plant without roots and stem
    We must sever cordless tentacles
    Bear painful stings with dignity
    We must
    Let go of cordless tentacles

    Albatross

    An awesome bird
    Lives on the cliffs
    Beyond the island.
    A sailor's omen,
    They follow ships,
    Riding the wind
    Out to the sea.
    Say Albatross,
    Say you're lucky.

a Vague Mist of Matter : Dustin Elexander

    .

    the aftermath’s constant arrival
    unfolds, preceding
    even a glimpse to perceive

    after all : before known

    no other than here,
    currently now, present;
    I am.
    thus, we may simply be

inevitably, those who strive to ask
    walk hand and hand in
    a forest of burden,
a field of strife to lay
    with the unknown

    question will stir you
    into assumption, deceptive absolutes

    instead, Be.
    do not know,
    flow at will,
    as all
    of all
    Ubiquitous is bliss

    allow full flux,
    flowing with the contingent
    flowing with the change
    able to embrace wholeness
    able to dissolve pain
    .

the deepest point of sea Is still among the shore
