Well this is going to be interesting.
I'll see what I can come up with. Not sure how sane the poem will be, but it will be interesting if I can do it.

Well the image can be perceived in many different ways. Just write what you perceive from it and I am sure it will turn out ok.

    Along the Way

    Time is running out
    The sun gracefully sinks
    Behind the ancient sacred stones
But I think I've made it
And this is what I have to show
    For my treks and toils

    Whoever was watching should know
That I did this for me
Not for the wealth or the glamour
For there was none of that
    But to prove to myself
    That I was good enough

I couldn't always see the way
Much like looking through a keyhole
I could only see a bit at a time
But what I saw was beautiful
    And kept me moving forward
When I wanted only to give up

    I've reached a shooting star
That some work for a lifetime
    And never achieve
    I would do it again
    A thousand times over
    For the experience was amazing

Told you it would be a little nuts.

    Fractured

    So many places, which way?
    Towards the left?
    Towards the Right?
Too many choices, all right here.

    The blind lady beckons,
    The owl takes flight.
    Through the keyhole is laughter,
A hand moves amongst the trees.

    How do I get home?
    So many choices,
    Too many voices.
    Where can I go?

    The clock ticks down.
    The sun is setting.
    The child is going home.
    Which home is mine?

A key hangs from the moon,
    Too high to reach.
    The night lilies open,
    The sun disappears.

    Scream to the night,
    Fall to the ground.
    Trapped, shivering, cringing,
    Inside my fractured mind.

    Pink Sky at Night

    A lilac roses' enchanted message;
sings of love at first sight.
But your eyes are blinded by a fold,
and your head is full of past hurt.
Am I destined to love thee more?

    Follow your instincts.
But let my owl be your guide
for he hears what is not spoken,
    and sees without eyes.

    I would jump the moon,
    and swim the deepest sea,
blow a wish upon a weed,
to obtain the key to your soul.

I will walk the stairway to your heart
    and row to your core.
    Please stop hiding.
I see you beneath your costume

I will not fear our time is setting,
    for you whisper promising words.
"Pink sky at night is a sailors delight"
your promise of a brighter tomorrow.

    Man's Desolation

I was haunted by beautiful thoughts
things that most men dreamt of dreaming -
I mused on love and gold; they, I sought,
    the bright treasures always gleaming.

    This fantasy, a beautiful place,
was joy-filled, but not much longer.
    It once was a place where children race;
the weak no longer turn stronger.

The mighty, lame; old men were young here -
they ran in fields; they're old once more.
The brave of heart become filled with fear,
because they know not what's in store.

The gods above weep at what they see -
flowers wilting like no age past.
Monsters chase the guiltless, as they flee.
Love and honor become placed last.

The sun shines, then dims again to dark.
    It no longer returns again.
Wickedness has left its vile mark,
a mark that no man can defend.

The fiend called man rules all thoughts with lust,
    not realizing what they destroy.
Strong bounds of love, purity, and trust,
    the creatures no longer deploy.

In the dark name of a greater good
    the corrupted burn with their hate;
charring, cutting their soul where they stood,
    mankind willingly damns his state.

Beautiful land, a dreamworld of lore
man breaks, not knowing what's at stake.
Destroying all those past worked for,
man proves that all that's good does break.

By the time we - broken - see our flaw,
the time for change will have then passed.
Not accountable, there is no law.
So now I choose to sail half-mast.

    Unbind My Eyes

Unbind my eyes that I might see
the path. A road that leads me to
my heart. Apart from that I need a key
to free me to stride boldly through.

I’ve taken time to smell the rose
that glows beneath a dusty moon,
    Whose lifeless ancient wisdom knows
nothing that will promote my quest.

For what I seek exceeds the bounds
of wisdom, logic and the like.
Unlike the world of sights and sounds
The destiny of soul transcends all tests

I have decided that I am going to leave this contest running for another 2 days if no one has any qualms with that. I am hoping in doing so we can gain a little more interest in the poetry contests.

I hope that no one has any problems with this and if they do please let me or one of the moderators know.

    Thank you kindly

The Place Where Dreams Are Made

    Its time for bed
    Its time for sleep
    Its time to rest
    Its time to leap

Time to go to the place where dreams are made

    I’ve got the key
    I’ve got the time
    I’ve got my thoughts
    I’ve got my mind

Ready for the place where dreams are made

    The wind howls and wails
    Blows away reality,
    And pushes on the sails

    Sailing, Sailing
    Through a sea of stars

And to the place where dreams are made

    I dream you there
    I meet you there
    I know you there
    I love you there

    We’ve been apart forever
    But there we are together

In the place where dreams are made.

    Love Beyond Tears

    Love Beyond Tears

'I'd like to tell you now my love
    Before you go to sleep
How much I love and cherish
    The memories I will keep

Your face I see before me
    Just fainlty through my tears
Please smile and say you love me
    And banish all my fears

    Sweetheart as I caress you
And hold your hand in mine
    God's welcome arms receive you
    With love that is divine

I'll hold my head up high dear
    And trust in him alone
That when at last he calls me
I'll claim you for my own'

    I Love You, You Bitch

    I Love You, You Bitch

    Love you? Of course not
    A bitch like you? Never
    Whatever gave you that idea?
    I'd sooner eat my liver

Oh, why did you leave me?
    You two timing shrew
You know how much I love you
I don't know what to do

My heart has ceased to function
    My brain has gone astray
Please, please just say you love me
    I'm begging you to stay

No. Poempeddlar, it's one entry per member per contest - you'll need to choose one. See the rules at the beginning of the thread.
