    Hunger is Full

    No aching absence
    nor emptiness -- instead,
    ravening presence.
    An unmitigated need
    contemptuous of "desire".

I don't typically write poetry, but thought this would be fun to partake in!

    Placebo

What does hunger mean to me?
    Could it mean to develop
    the junkie mentality?
    Every snort, every light
    making you
    STRONGER.
    Because
you like feeling out of touch
    far away
    DISTANT
just an illusion in your own mind
    of yourself
    or…is it you?

    Imagine needing something so desperately
But at the same time hating it so badly.
Imagine if every moment, and every breath was dedicated
    to that one trip
to those meager minutes and hours.
Time goes by fast when you have the hunger
the kind of hunger that is insatiable.
    Life, people, faces, friends, family
they seem to slip by you, out of your grasp
to a place that just barely escapes your memory and fades even further with time.
Time in which you have no concept of.
    But it doesn't matter.
Feeding the hunger is the only thing that matters.
    How can you go on
    Survive
    Adapt
When your only savior is your starvation?
    You don't.
    You just..
    ESCAPE
    ...Always.

    Drained Reflection

    Emptiness beckons absence within it,
rainbows cascade to black and white,
visualizing the dreams that are out of grasp
then letting go of all that was,
    leaving nothing
    but an aching sensation
    of wanting!

    Dafodils drained to pale sunshine,
    wrinkled, stepped upon
when tiny girls make foolish wishes
    and nothing is left
    but an empty yellow color
    that once shined!

    The nights come and pass,
    running fast our cherished times,
now we bleed for the moments
    when our hearts were full...

    but instead we're only faced
    with a longing hunger...

    Ana
Ana sitting in the corner of the room
    misguiding angel
    surrounded by countless bodies
    of teenage brides
the weight of a thousand feathers
    with everything to lose

    To Hunger

I want to thank you for never deserting me.
Even when I despised you, thinking that if you only went
then so would all my misery: I’d meet my own standards of thin
and everyone knows that skeletons don’t have problems.

You were always there for me. Tirelessly guiding me towards the fridge
against my wishes. My will was weak; it failed to kill me. You kept me alive.

Now you disturb me from writing, gently pulling me back
to the realm of the physical. That small familiar pang in the belly
like a call from an old friend, inviting me to lunch.

    A Dragon's Hunger

    To fly featherless,
like sheets of silk entangled in wind,
these arms were made to embrace the cumulus.
    These arms were made

    to stroke the air,
    with dragon bones,
and dissolve into stars with the moon.
It’s worth the ashes that melt these lungs.
    It’s worth the ashes.

    I’d trade the land,
to kiss the skies my final night,
    to kiss the skies,
    my final knight.
