    we become coins and
    play bloody knuckles

    fall slinked around my ankles
I sat alone in the orchard
    each time a different table
each time colder, with more rotten apples
    and more crows. we watched

the edge of night mist and shadow
cloud and shade the roiling of winter
on the horizon, ready for battle:

    here crashed with there together
for a moment over my head

and I was flipped back into childhood
my scabby sister, sleeping in a bed,
    grass-stained knees and staring
    always straight ahead.

Is it just me or is there two themes listed above? (Nature / memory?)

I'm guessing the actual theme is nature?...

Just to let you all know, in Torana's absence, I'm taking temporary control of the poetry contest. Any queries or suggestions should be directed to me, your new Lord and Master... *ahem*

Anyway, yeah :p Carry on, mortals :p

Quite right dushechka - I've editted Torana's post above so that the only theme is Nature. Good luck with the entries.

Banzai is also correct - in Torana's absence he and I will look over proceedings here. You lucky people you.

Sorry for my mistake in the thread. I have had a lot going on lately and it has been hard to concentrate on this contest. I do apologise for any confusion it has caused.

Also thank you Banzai for your help with the contests while I am unavailable. It is very kind of you to help.

    Home

    She comes upon me,
    hovering all around.
    That essence whisked me away
into the darkness of the deep forests.
Surrounded by an entirely new world,
all I can do is embrace the moment.
Here, I feel as though I can conquer anything.
Standing still, I let her lift me and take control,
    nothing can damage this now.
    Floating with the cool breeze,
the sweet, refreshing taste of ivory snow
    sliding down my throat.
The trees have become my shelter
and I have made new friends.
Letting out a sigh of relief:
    I have finally found home.

    Naturally Tony Nature

    His name is Tony Nature.
His State of Nature is wild.
    He loves the wilderness,
    and things of that nature.
    He was born;
    by the Laws of Nature.
    So the love of nature
    must be in his nature.
    It's only natural.

    Nature's Calls

lay the burdens of this life down
be encased in the cold damp ground.
do not fear to rest your head
on your final dirt filled bed.
hear the crows sing their song
    come along! Come along!
    Mother Nature will not wait
the birds urge you to make haste
follow the scent of flowers wild
    nature calls, come home child

*I'm not sure if I am posting this in the correct place as I am new to the forum, but I hope so. Thank you
