    Seeing Through Moments

From your jaw line, when you tilt your head,
    Stubbled in red,
    Seeing to a distant time,
Far beyond your four post bed.

Watching you prevail, so far into the past
    Through opaque glass,
    Aegir beckoning your sail,
    Welan holding up your mast.

A warrior you were, a King in your days
    With deathly engage,
    Living in a fearsome blur
    Just to satisfy the rage.

Yet the sky’s misread, overturned was the sea
    Begging Odin, "Mercy!"
    The whole crew, now dead
    In a King’s fiery dream

And in this moment, you come back to me.

    A Moment

    Have you ever pondered

    What is a moment?

    Time trickling, elapsing

    Sand dripping through the glass

    Did you ever ask,

    How can only one moment

Change your life to the point of

    No return

    Did you ever make time

    To acknowledge

    That often

    Just a moment

    Can pull someone

    To your lips

    To open your heart to

    To new eventualities’

    Make you feel

    Alive

    Wanted

    Precious

    Did you ever stop,

    To thank

    These little moments

    With

    A smile

    A kiss

    A caress

    A fire alighted in you

A molten love moving over you

A sigh of pleasure in your ear

A bite of passion on your neck

    A set of nails grooving

    Unknown patterns on your skin

A bliss reached by the joining

    Without which your life

    Would be meaningless

    Worthless

    Moment less

    Stuck

    Suspended animation
    Distended and distorted
Time, like a line, stretches out
From a bang to a whisper
    And from it is selected
    A sliver.
    Now pull it out gently.
    A silver set picture
    Translucent in the voided dark
    Of the universe's developing room
    Hung from a thread
    Dead weight
    Where fate and two sisters
    Crowd around with scissors.
    One snip
    Crack, like a whip,
    The line snaps back
    And I am staring down
At your face in its coffin
    Frozen at this age.
    I am … stuck
    In this moment.
