    Waiting by the Window

Packed my bags once again and waited by the window
The leaves were falling when she promised me she'd show
I remembered the conversation was an hour ago
Time flew by as I watched falling leaves turn into snow

I haven't moved an inch since I sat down
It didn't take long for my smile to turn into a frown
Continually watching every snowflake hit the ground
Burned me up inside and she was nowhere to be found

This is the longest I've ever waited for her
I tried never to give up because I needed some closure
Talking to her face to face is what I was waiting for
But constantly standing me up made me hate her more and more

My bags are still packed and I haven't moved an inch
She called again and told me to wait, but I haven't heard from her since
All this anger is making me grow increasingly impatient
If it were possible I'd ask for a replacement

I really hate to say that out loud because I know it's disrespectful
But dammit I'm pissed at this bitch and she's turned me mean and hateful
The next time she calls I'll fake my voice to sound like an older male
And say to her that her presence is requested at her daughter's funeral

    Rusted From The Rain
A truck sitting in a field
    Lost and lonely
    As each day goes past
    I walk by
    This vehicle never moves
Its pale blue paint slowly rusting
    Graffiti covers parts of it.

I wander past on a day off
    Camera in hand,
    To look at this truck
    Falling apart before my eyes
    Its age showing,
    Time wearing it away

    The loneliness of the truck
    Reminds me of my life
    Left as a mere babe
To a stranger in a new land

Now I am an honest man
    But seeing this truck
    Makes me realise
    How fortunate I was
That unlike this beast before me
    I wasn’t abandoned
I was given a second chance.

Life has its way with certain things
Not me as I have shaped my
    But this truck,
    Rusted from the rain
    It is left to waste
Once was this a proud creature
Now nothing more than a shell
    Of hatred and abandonment

Following the footprints in the sand...
    Moonlight on the River

    Moonlight on the River

    Moonlight on the river.
    Starlight on the snow.
    An angry tide, arising...
    The screaming of a soul.

    Moonlight on the river.
    Starlight on the snow.
    Bitter winds, ablowing...
    A desolate crossing, now.

    Moonlight on the river.
    Starlight on the snow.
    Blood upon her hands.
    Tears now stain her face.

    Moonlight on the river.
    Starlight on the snow.
    A single line of footprints,
    Pressed into the sand.

    Moonlight on the river.
    Starlight on the snow.
    Alone she walks,
    Upon a foreign shore.

    Moonlight on the river.
    Starlight on the snow.
    Blood dry upon her hands,
    Tears, a salty, lingering trace.

    Moonlight on the river.
    Starlight on the snow.
    Alone, wayfarer adrift,
Trapped in a cold, dark place.

    Without You

In an instant it started to rain
I hung the phone up after our conversation
I hadn't noticed the clouds above had began to cry
    Reflecting my pain

    I grabbed my case
    I dawned on my suit
    I grabbed my hat
    I forgot my face

The walk to work was drab
    Steps on the sidewalk echoed
    People spoke with no words
    Time was forever the past

Opened the door to the office
    Lights flickered and hummed
    The chairs were mostly lifeless
    As inviting as a coffin

The walk home was cold as well
    Droplets pelted my skin
    Flowers wilted and wept
Nothing to protect them from the swell

That night my place was stagnant
    A bed for two
    A home no longer made
The was silence louder than one could imagine

And without you there is nothing within
    Only I exist now
    A muted reminder
    Of mistakes reciprocated again

    A Collapse

At the death of the day
Time has left it's mark upon this place
In the silence of the room
I sit by a lonely photograph

    Dreaming, seething, blinding

    In a hundred years
    I will forget you
    Or maybe I can forget
    In a few hundred minutes

    Numbing, finding, binding

    Paradise Rejected

A thousand of years of indolence
    Chains clatter in the wilderness
    Igniting thunder eviscerates
    Ugliness will not regenerate
    And the continents bleed out.

Once veiled so very nicely green
    Centuries of psychopathic need
    Only feeding our criminal greed
    Killing the long nurturing dream.

    Rising above the blackened edge
The colder hand turns the page
    A fully earned chastisement
    Their abject abandonment
As the ruined lamb bleeds out.

    Sustaining the wild land’s green
Once they lived out the dream
    Turning away from idiot greed
    Accepting the common need.

See what they brought into the nest
They shall choke on it like the rest
    Doing whatever that they dare
Burning beauty out of the air
Seems their time is running out.

    The Path Less Traveled?

My decisions are laid in stone behind me.

A metaphorical highway of my life.

When the first stones of my road were being laid I was surrounded by companions.

Decision after countless decision the numbers drop.

    I find myself alone.

These bitter feelings flash through my mind.

My past decisions appear to me as divergences in the road.

I have taken the path less traveled.

But has it made all the difference?
