Okay so...why Hermes? Because Hermes is like the best of the greek gods and I always feel so bad for him, being sent off to tell this person that and this person that and having to escort the dead all over the place. Also..his shoes are cool. So I'm not a "published" writer, but a couple of my teachers put some of my work in teacher journals or something. I really didn't like the poem all that much but who am I to stand in the way of education? I like to write "darker" stuff but I'm a generally light-hearted person and I'm currently trying to write my first novel. This is the first and probably only writing community I'm a part of. Nice to be here. So, how's it goin?

Hello. That was nice of your teachers. Even if you didn't like the poem that much, it must have been good for them to put it in the journals. I prefer darker stuff as well so I'll check out some of your work. (can't promise to write detailed reviews, but I'll check it out) Cheers
Welcome to the site, Hermes! Your teachers saw value in your poem, but you did not. I will take that as a signe that you are very demanding of yourself. That can work to your advantage, a drive to always improve, as long as you don't let it discourage you. Take advantage of the viewpoints you'll have access to here, and most importantly, have fun!
I am a little OCD when it comes to writing things and I really like things perfect, yeah, but the poem was actually a school proejct and the "genius" behind it was that I couldn't think of enough words that rhymed with "move" so I just ended every line with it. Lucky me, "move" has like four definitions.

The poem? can't. My laptop crashed a WHILE ago and I apparently do not have a hard copy so the only existing copy would be the one old teacher has. Sorry.
