    WF Short Story Club Nominations

Discussion in 'Discussion of Published Works' started by thirdwind, Jan 30, 2013.

Post the name of the story (and the author) you'd like to read and discuss in this thread. Make sure the story can be found for free online (at a legit source). That way, people don't have to worry about finding a copy. However, don't post a link to the story. Again, please only post the name of the story and the author.

For now, I'll take one nomination per person so that everyone has a chance to nominate something. Once we get enough nominations, I'll start a poll where everyone can vote on what story they want to read.

Just to add, any genre is OK, but nothing with too much violence, etc. Make sure the story agrees with the site's policies.

How about George Saunders' Tenth of December? It appears to be available online at the New Yorker site. His collection of short stories (of the same name) was just released this month and has received some good reviews. This story is one of the stories in that collection, but originally appeared in the New Yorker in October, 2011.)

Available FREE from the MIT website. (http://web.mit.edu/norvin/www/somethingelse/barthelme.html)

Nice and short, post-modernistic. Good discussion value. ;)
