    May I present to you...

    May I present to you...

    Myself!

First things first, English is not my native language so any future posts by me may be glaring with errors...I'll try not to make them though, same goes for any stories I post. With that out of the way, a little more about myself. I am 20 years and live in The Netherlands. I have not read particularly much but there were a few books that I kept getting back to. I did however used to write alot, especially between age 12 and 16. I think I have written about 4 A5 books full with stories, ideas etc. I also used to draw alot. I am saying used to because my interests have shifted a little from age 17 or so. I really got into computer programming and I am currently in college for it.

Having said that, I still regularly make digital drawings.

Oh and I make music too!

Anyway...long story short, I have returned to writing a few months ago and I feel the time is ripe to share my stories with the world an provide feedback to others in a similar position. I am not looking to publish anything, I am just writing for fun and to see if I can improve.

I hope to see everyone around!

    Welcome to Writing Forums, Macaberz!

I hope you find what you're looking for here, whatever your interests in writing.

This forum aims to provide the best workshopping resources on the internet, and to that end we have a few rules which you should familiarise yourself with before you get stuck in. The main section of the site is the Writing Workshop, where members can post their writing in order to receive critique of their work.

However, before we allow members to post their work, they must have met some basic requirements. Firstly, you must have been a member for fourteen days, and have made twenty posts on the forum overall (please note, posts in Word Games do not count towards this). This is so that members, when they post their work, have familiarised themselves with the forums and contributed to them (as well as hopefully learned something for themselves). Secondly, members must provide two constructive reviews of other people's work for each piece of their own that they wish to post. This is because we believe that the focus of workshopping should be equally upon giving reviews as receiving them, as they allow a writer to practice and improve their editing skills, which they can then apply to their own writing.

Beyond the Writing Workshop, you will find that we have extensive forums for discussion of aspects of writing, as well as a community area for general discussion. We also run periodic short story and poetry contests, which are good for challenging yourself and expanding your skills.

If you have any questions or problems, then the moderators (myself, Cogito, Lemex and Dante Dases) should be your first port of call. Any technical problems with the site itself should be directed to Daniel, the site administrator and owner. I would recommend you have a look over the rules so that you know what to expect, and what is expected. But aside from that, I hope you enjoy your time here.

Welcome to the forum. I think this is a great place to inspire others with writing, but even more so to be inspired by others' writing. With your appreciation for various mediums of art, I'm sure you will have a lot to contribute to the community. Bear in mind, though, that if you want to publish a piece, such as a novel, do not post its entirety here. Simply post excerpts. I hope you enjoy your time here and I look forward to reading some of your pieces.

Thank you both for the warm (and extensive) welcome!

I was a little dismayed to see that you require members to review others and stay for at least 14 days before they can post BUT I can see why. Moreover, the more I thought about it, the more sense it began to make and I acknowledge that it is indeed more beneficial to me as a writer to review others.

Last but not least, the 14 days requirement gives me a nice oppurtunity to write up a new story that I want to write. It's based of something (quite sad and shocking) that really happened and which I happened to stumble upon just yesterday.

Hell, even the to-the-point media descriptions of that story got me shedding some manly tears, its really that horrible.

Now that I have everyone (hopefully) looking to forward what it's all about, i'll take my leave...

I have reading/reviewing to do :) (and I actually quite like to do it!)
