It's a lovely city, I both studied and honeymooned there, and was never treated with anything but the utmost courtesy by the Turkish people (even when they were hungry, thirsty, and a touch short-tempered during Ramadan.) I hope this is a one-off, and not the expansion of a trend, but I fear for the worst.
A friend of mine was vacationing in Turkey last year and actually left a few days early because he felt a strange uneasiness he said. Later on he commented that his uneasiness was probably because he felt terrorists were watching him.
<does some research> Oh Gods... For those not aware yet, there had been an attack at the Istanbul Ataturk Airport. 36 dead and hundreds more injured. According to the news, the suspects were identified as Russian. My prayer goes out to the Turks. Rest in peace, those who were killed. Rest in peace. @Iain Aschendale , I agree with you. I hope this isn't the herald of something worse.
