Can't believe I forgot this one. Of my 'absolute favourite songs ever', this is the happiest. I love everything about it. I love Ben Folds. I probably love Kate (whoever she is).
I can't believe it. We're on page three, and nobody's mentioned George Harrison's "Here Comes the Sun" ... what is with you people?
Bittersweet in what way? (Not being argumentative, but simply curious.) Do you associate it with a relationship that went sour, or does it remind you that George died too young? If so, I get those. There are many songs that strike me that way.
I was at a very low point in my life and decided to listen to "Here Comes the Sun" because it had always cheered me up. That time it only made it worse, lol. There's another George Harrison song I can't listen to without crying, "All Things Must Pass".
I can't help but smile every time, Hard to pick these actually, I wonder if something like this could win.... Lol, but if none of that is good enough to make you smile in happiness, then maybe one of these will do it you pretentious jerk,
And if all that somehow fails to make you happy then we need something extra super happy! These are the big hitters... Now you can't be sad after all of that. The power of songs compels you! The power of songs compels you! Sadness exorcism complete.
'Breathe' is my favorite song to listen to. Followed closely by 'Sun & Moon'. They just sound so beautiful!
How about "Got a beat-up glove, a home-made bat and a brand-new pair of shoes--You know, I think it's time we give this game a ride!"
I don't really understand the lyrics, but basically it's about the telephone ringing. Happy, and batshit insane at the same time:
I was always felt like it was too slow and the voice too consoling to be purely happy. It feels like the kind of song you see in a cancer movie.
It's funny that those girls voices can make a metal song sound happy. I thought Andrew WK was the only one that could make a happy metal song.
