I love the way everyone has pulled together. It's been astonishing. Thousands of people have been evacuated out of "Tent City" (lots of homeless people) and there's just been an incredible outpouring of support for them. The little that they did have is gone, and they have to start over with nothing.
I love how we always have tornado warnings and yet never any tornadoes.... thank God for living in a valley! I feel so safe all the time.
okay simple. I dont love where i live. its hot and sticky and i'd rather be in ny or at least in the mountains
I love that we don't have winter where I live - just a sorta-autumn that comes after New Years. I don't think I could live in a place that had snow.
It's not my parent's house. Also: I can smoke in the shower, and drinking myself stupid without getting 'The Look'.
I live in the middle of the countryside, which means it is - almost - eternally peaceful. You can hear the birds in the day, and - occasionally - foxes at night. There is very little traffic; you can walk down the road and see not one. What keeps me most happy, I think, is the sight of nature, and the way things transform, between night, and day, and twilight; and from season to season. (I just don't get that in the city where I go to Uni; I'd barely be able tell the seasons apart without a calender!) In the day, the sun shines on the grass, on the trees, and flowers, and fills the world with colour; at night, existence is transformed, and the land becomes one of silver shapes and shadow.
I love the desert. It is so clean. And there is such a spiritual quality to the hard desolate environment. Las Vegas is a city that has happened virtually overnight. The faltering economy has temporarily stopped the growth, but for the previous 15 years or so Las Vegas was the fastest growing city in the world. Incredible excitement! And new people coming in at the rate of 5 or 6 thousand a month. After I lived here 3 years, I was an "old timer." It is the friendliest place I've ever lived. Everyone is anxious to fit in, so everyone is nice to everyone else.
I hate the part I live in currently because I hate suburbia. I prefer the country. Overall I love Texas though. The fact that it can secede any time it wants is one of the reasons I love it.
Lol I've been doing it with increasing frequency lately. I need more caffeine I wasn't meant to operate without stimulants apparently.
I love that winters don't get much below 30 degrees. Last year was a weird fluke with all the snow. It was a lot of fun though. I also love cowboy hats.
