    Clive's demise

Discussion in 'Discussion of Published Works' started by Felipe, Dec 31, 2011.

Has anyone else noticed how utterly predictable Clive Cussler's books have become? It's like a blueprint exists and every book follows the same line. the heroes have time to wisecrack in a life and death situation, some evil genius is hell bent on world domination, a meticulously restored antique car gets destroyed in a chase and the hero gets the beautiful woman.

"Inca Gold" was sheer genius, he has sadly gotten into a real rut.

I read one of Cussler's novels back in the 80s. I don't remember which one. But I do remember thinking it was the worst-written and most laughably-plotted waste of paper I'd ever seen, and Cussler has never gotten a penny from me, nor a minute of my time, since. I know the guy's successful, I know he's rich, so I guess he thinks he's doing something right. Oh well.
