    What's a "Reviewer"?

Discussion in 'Support & Feedback' started by Cady36, Jan 11, 2009.

...and what's the "Reviewer team"? I've seen "Reviewer" as a title near some folks avatars, and I've seen references to a "Reviewer team" (Congrats! Tom, Dick and Harry have been added to the Reviewer team!)

I've snooped around the site to see if I could figure out who these mysterious people are and what they do, but I'm not finding it.

    Can you enlighten me?

    Thanks,

    Cady

Members of the site who have done extensive numbers of good quality reviews are sometimes promoted to the title of reviewer. The review team basically tries to make sure that all the posts in the Review Forum get reviewed, and most of the time will do reviews specifically for you if you ask them.

In case you're wondering (correct me if I'm wrong, please, someone)

There's one Admin, Daniel. He can do anything to the site.

Moderators can delete posts and basically keep us from all trying to kill each other, and get rid of spam (note how little spam we actually see. I think I've seen maybe four pieces since I've joined.)

Not too sure the difference between a moderator and a super moderator.

    Already explained reviewers.

Senior members, members, and junior members have to have a certain number of posts. I know Junior members have less than 100. Members have more than one hundred, not too sure how many you need to be a senior member.

Supporters are people who have donated money to the site, and they get some special privileges. (ability to change the heading under their name, a special forum, etc.)

    Hope that helps.

Junior Members need 30, Senior Members need at least 100. I think the difference between Moderators and Super Moderators is that Super Mods have a large set of the Forums such as Cogi (aka, Cog, or his proper member name Cogito) covering the Review Room and the Site Information, but Mods only cover a certain forum set as is the case with Oasis Writer and Teele who both cover the RPG forums and maybe the Community Interactions.

If you go to the home page of any of the forums, you'll see the Mods at the bottom of the page.

NO probs, I asked this question too and Wolfie broke it down for me, Wolfie being Rumpole40k, not the new member Wolfie(C).

In addition Super Mods have more power than Mods - I for example am Moderator in the short story forum and can for example stick and close theads but I cannot delete them, Super Mods can along with a few extra tools.

Senior Members such are me have to be created by the Site Admin or possibly by a Super Mod, and is a status reserved on the site for award only. You'll notice zorell and emily that you are denoted as senior members but not in the linked list, you are senior members due to post count as you say, but not by award (not bragging honest!).

A little confusing granted, but hopefully clearer now.

I was curious why your username is blue. Just never got around to asking.

I assumed it had something to do with the short story contest forum. :p

Reviewers are members who specialise in giving in-depth reviews on written work. They are also specialised in that style of work for example some are editors of online magazines while others are of a specialised profession at giving reviews. Cogito is the highest reviewer because of the time he commits to the review room section of the forum.

Dark Blue Senior members are awarded the colour in name as gannon said because they have earned the title via one way or another.

Moderators can only moderate what’s required of them in specific forums like the contests and RPG

Super Moderators control the whole site and can do anything regarding the forum from small things to larger things.

Daniel the Admin by title owns the site he controls the software in full for example uploading to the server and maintaining paying the bills to keep us open for business with the help of the supporters.
Daniel entrusts the sites safety to the Super Moderators and Me.

The supporters do get special privileges but they do pay for those privileges.

    As follows.

    Reviewers.

    Bluemouth
    Cogito
    Domoviye
    Eoz Enaj
    Etan Isar
