    lol!
    Banzia very funny.

Kinda reminds me of War of the Worlds without plasibility. That is why I didn't like Signs.
    It was a lame movie.

When talking about music, I would never say, "My noise is better than your noise."

I would make a cool analogy with movies, too, but I can't, so just convert that over on your own.

Masters of Science Fiction is worse than Masters of Horror.

this makes me sad for many, many reasons.

I don't think your original post is entirely fair, those films may seem bad to you, but that doesn't mean they are bad films. I hated the Hills Have Eyes, but I love the Saw series and I also happen to love V for Vendetta and 300. I have to agree with what Cog said, I find what you've said in this thread quite close-minded and also a bit offensive. Everybody is entitled to their own likes, dislikes, opinions, feelings, etc, etc, and if they vary from yours that doesn't make them wrong.

My favourite movie is probably hated by a lot of people, and I'm actually sick to death of being made fun of for liking it - why do people have such trouble accepting that other people's views may be different to theirs?

Ok tell me exactly what it is about Saw that you dislike?

I loved all three of them to be honest. I don't see what was so bad about the movies. Yes there are some areas where they were lacking, but they are also very good movies.

The third one was more about the gore, the suffrage that he wanted people to endure. To feel what he felt, to learn. You can't understand until you watch the last one in the series thus far.

Those aren't good examples at all. Don't get me started, but it's too late ...

The Saw movies are dreadful. People can enjoy them, sure, but they're god-awful. Low production values, terrible acting, and pathetic cringe-inducing scenes. I hate the franchise with a passion. You then went on to mention The Hills Have Eyes as a "bad" movie, which made me laugh. That, my friend, is ignorance.

HHI is regarded, by true horror fans, as bringing something back to the genre that has been missing for years: brutality. Bad horror movies are all of those cliche Scream-types. HHI was fierce, violent, shocking, and had great production values and an awesome director (probably the best upcoming horror director, too - Alexandre Aja). So, if we're going to look at the real quality of the movie, not the fact that it was "too much" for some people, then it shouldn't be on the list. I mean seriously, you could've chosen a bucketload of movies much, much worse than The Hills Have Eyes.

People didn't "hate" the other movies you listed, either. And they're not "good", in the amazing sense you meant. All of those films are really mediocre. V for Vendetta was pompous and pretentious. 300 was a good action film that fell very thin on plot, and characters. Chronicles of Riddick I haven't seen, but the first one was pretty good.

Now if you had have started this thread with a comment like:

Why do people always go and see the bad movies like Superhero Movie or Epic Movie?

I would happily agree with you and say some people are idiots and why continue to make that sort of crap when there are worse problems in the world. Hollywood is a love/hate relationship.

WHOA! Now now. I would agree that these are not the best movies out there, but they are fun enough to make seeing them once worth it. I really want to see Superhero Movie. I'll pay at least $20 to see Tom Cruise claim he can fly and then die (*Couldn't Fly*). That's hilarious XD.

However, I believe we can all agree that horrible films like Meet the Spartans can not be tolerated!

As for Saw and HHI (No I in 'Eyes' or is that just some crazy abriviation :p, just wondering) I prefer the Saw kind of horror to the mindless gore of a film like HHI. Saw just kept me constantly on the edge with its insanity and a truely riviting villian. HHI as far as I can tell, wasn't scary, it was just full of blood and gore (Something I've never found scary, its just nasty). Tell you the truth I've never been scared by a movie per say. I may get the creepy factor but not the scare factor (Maybe thats why I've always valued suspense and craziness over shock factor... hmmm).

Well, I suppose that too is difference of opinion.

BTW Blue, if you haven't seen Chronicles, but have seen Pitch Black, save yourself the trouble and never watch Chronicles. I enjoy anything with Riddick in it, but his saga should have ended with Pitch Black, Escape from Butcher Bay, and Dark Fury. CoR was horrible in comparison to the other parts of the franchise.

BTW BTW, I agree. There were better examples for bad movies. Step Up anyone? Honestly how that movie ever garnered a sequel or that much revenue is beyond me XD.

Hahaha! I was thinking Hills Haves I's instead of Eyes. Thank you for going on to provide me cover by using the abbreviation yourself. :p

I can understand we all have different opinions and tastes - I have nothing against people that like the Saw movies. I'll just argue all day that HHE is a better quality movie.

My friend's dad rented that last year and was watching it alone one night. I thought: what the hell?!

The movie "Bring It On" has 3 sequels, albeit, most of them have gone straight to video.

The Land Before Time seems to pump out a new movie every year or two.. It's in the double digits now, isn't it?

Saw wasn't that bad Bluemouth but I do agree with most of what you said actually.

HHE was actually rather good in my opinion. I wasn't let down at all. Saw did keep my on the edge of my seat, it is by far my favourite movies thus far. But I like gore. I find it is rather inspirational really.

And I think Scream is by far one of the worst, or The Blair Witch Project, which was a major dissapointment if you ask me. They really built that up and whenI watched it, after being told it was terrifying to watch, I was that bored I almost let my grandmother teach me to knit...o_O

Oh...and I've watched every single land before time movie there is :p lol I love Littlefoot. He is so cute <giggle> plus they keep my kids entertained while I am writing.

I find The Blair Witch Project uber creepy, though many don't.

The whole nighttime tent scenes with the rocks and children really got to me.

I watched it with friends of minet he first time round and they were terrified through the whole movie. One of my friends cried and ended up leaving because it scared her that much. I was bored by the movie. It did nothing at all for me. I tried watching on my own at 1am, even after a few drinks, and still it did nothing for me...I don't know why, but it was just one of the worst horror movies I've ever seen.

I've never seen it. I can't sit through chick flick, romance type stuff. THe closest I've gotten to a chick flick in the last few years that I've watched the whole way through would have to be Mr and Mrs Smith...yeah so it isn't really a chick flick. But for me it still is. Too much soppy love stuff in it.

I don't like those soppy movies. I watch children's movies as I have to because I have children and children's movies aren't all that bad I guess. But I CAN'T sit through a chick flick without falling asleep from boredom or walking out the room in sheer agony!

    *waves hands frantically*

    Pick me, pick me!

Everyone will have a different response to particular constructions of horror, some may need hardcore gore to stimulate fear, others may only need the rustling sound of leaves in the darkness. In regards to the Blair Witch Project, well, that movie scared me. Alot. First horror movie I've ever watched wherein I've felt afraid in the aftermath, lol.

Lol. I thought Night Watch was awesome because it required several watchings to understand. You can tell it was made by a bunch of Russians with copious amounts of vodka :p

Need I remind everyone that the first Scream film was in fact a parady?
Who can take a film so seriously when they have lines like this in 'We can't have sex, in Horror movies, teens having sex always die, so no sex tonight!'

My favourte films, no one has heard of.
Event Horizen or Johnny got his Gun.

Johnny Got His Gun is dark and terrifying. As I recall, Metallica bought the rights for it to use in their video for One. Very scary film.

Event Horizon was not so much a good film as just amusing:

It was funny that nothing they did had any effect in stopping their impending doom :p
