If I can't remember how to spell something I either type near enough to sounding right and use spell check or think of an alternative.
I can usually spell rhythm but it messes me up when I go to write algorithm and logarithm. I always want to put a y where the i is. I can have trouble with hemorrhage as well. Sometimes I still put 2 mms and 1 r but when I see the red line, I know what I've done.
I must have done something to my spellcheck to offend it because as of late it doesn't help me unless I'm off by only one letter. Also, tommorrow. I may at some point have actually typed ttoommoorrooww...
I keep wanting to spell restaurant as resteraunt, and separate as seperate. I'm sure I'll get there eventually.
I used to have trouble with "separate", too, but now I remember it from the Finnish word separatisti.
Onomatopoeia always gives me trouble. It doesn't help that the local vernacular for that word is 'onomonopia'
Well, if we're going that far, I have a hard time spelling "Worcestershire" because my mom always pronounced it "Wooster."
I loved my HS sophomore English teacher because she explained to us the Old and Middle English origins of silent letters like that. So even now I get cute and pronounce it "k-NEE-fe" in my head.
I learned how to spell tomorrow by a nemonic of sorts: tom or row. February gives me trouble quite often.
