    Would you...?

Discussion in 'Debate Room' started by Lewdog, Sep 13, 2014.

I was having a conversation with another member and it gave me the idea for this thread.

If you knew someone had a sex change to the gender you prefer, and you thought they looked attractive, would you have a problem having a relationship with them? So if you are a man, and you met a woman that used to be a man but had a sex change could you date them? Would that make you gay? The same question could work for women as well, would you date a woman that has been changed into a man? Would it be a deal breaker that you wouldn't be able to have children? Or is that the least of your worries?

A woman in more than a man without a penis. Yes, it would make you gay. But we're not allowed to have any negative views about that anymore, so bang whatever you want.

Well, obviously it wouldn't make me gay (or bisexual) and even if it did, big deal.

But... I'd be up for something casual, but less inclined to something more serious. Which sounds stupid, but I just figure that someone who's gone through something like that, someone who's felt uncomfortable enough in their own skin to have to go through the pain and expense and emotional struggle of transitioning, has got to have some pretty serious scars.

And I like simple relationships. This one seems like it would be complicated, not by the person's transgender status itself but rather by the trauma that I think would almost necessarily be associated with being transgendered. So, not an absolute deal breaker, but something that would have to be overcome. Not because of the transgendered person himself, but because of me, and my limitations.

    Wow. Seriously? "Whatever you want?"

Where does that anger come from? You need to dehumanize someone because... why? I really don't understand.

I'm not dehumanizing anybody; I literally meant whatever. Bang your spouse, your horse, a watermelon, whatever gets you your jollies.

That's kind of the DEFINITION of dehumanizing - comparing a human to a horse or a watermelon.

You are the one making the comparison. There are no lines to read between.

I want to say that I could and that it wouldn't matter. I wish I were young enough for my concept of sexuality not to be such a holdover from Boomer dogma, but I'm GenX, so it is. I follow a young F to M trans person on Youtube named Skylar, mainly because he's really articulate and so open about documenting not only his transition, but his life and the other things that being trans means besides surgery and all that. Also, NEGL, he transitioned into a really cute guy. If it weren't for the age difference, this would be a guy I would be attracted to. Sadly, he would not be attracted to me as he's a str8 dude. o_O

I'm assuming s/he means you can bang whoever or whatever you want, and s/he doesn't give a shit.

That said, I would urge my fellow humans to only bang other humans, providing they are...

+ Of about the same age category (ie, adults/elders)

    + Alive (ie, not dead)

+ Both sides genuinely care about each other, love each other (ie, don't be a manipulative, abusive asshole)

If these three qualities are met, I'm happy with whoever you love.

That last one's a bit tricky. You don't think there's a way to have sex with someone you don't love WITHOUT being a manipulative, abusive asshole?

Sure there's a way, but what kind of love is it if someone's basically forcing you to bend to their will and doing everything they say? If someone is clearly showing a lack of interest in the other person's well-being, hopes and dreams?

Wait, what? It wouldn't be love at all. Just sex.

I think people can have sex with people they don't love without being assholes, as long as everyone's up front about what's going on...

So why would it make you gay or bisexual if they no longer have the parts of their former sex?

There's this one guy who has transformed himself into as close to a cat through body modification. Would having sex with him be bestiality?

I think we should refrain from comparing homosexuality to bestiality, Mr Santorum. You still have your "google problem" to worry about.

Okay. But do people actually say that often enough to need an abbreviation? Sounds like a trying-too-hard prefab internet thing.

This question brings up other broader questions: Can you blame someone for their sexual preferences? If a white person never found themselves attracted to a black person, should there be blame attached to that white person? Is that lack of attraction a conscious result or a subconscious result? If it is conscious, is fixing it merely changing their racist views? Or is it partly conscious and partly subconscious, where taking away their discrimination wouldn't necessarily fix it? Is this even something that needs fixing (people seem to be open about people being attracted to whomever they want, especially in terms of gender)? If three people pay $10 each to the hotel to share 1 room; the hotel realizes it should only cost $25 and gives $5 to the bellhop to give back to the guests; the bellhop decides to pocket $2 and then give $1 to each of the guests; then each guest paid $9 and the bellhop received $2; WHERE DID THE EXTRA DOLLAR GO!?!?

The two dollars comes out of the total take, not the price of the room. It's 27-2 not 27+2
