    Writers Trinity Voting 2

Discussion in 'Bi-Weekly Poetry Contest Archives' started by Torana, May 6, 2008.

    Writers Trinity
    The Second

Welcome to the second WritingForums.org Writers Trinity poetry contest voting.

Voting will end in 3 days from now, the 9th of May.

Voting for yourself is entirely at your own discretion. I'm frankly sick of discussion on the matter, so any in here will be deleted.
If you want to vote for yourself, go for it, but I personally wouldn't do that unless I genuinely believed mine was the best.

The winning poem will be stickied for a week in the poetry contest.

Oh, and if I catch anyone cheating, it'll be castration (or whatever I deem the female equivilent to be). You have been warned *evil laughs, whilst sharpening a carving knife...*

Seriously folks, don't do it. There is no prize to be won here but bragging rights, making cheating an exercise in pointlessness.

Best of luck to all entrants, and happy voting

    Gannon ~ Ambivalence

With quivering lip and trembling thigh,
    once acquainted lovers meet
    under a conspiring sky.

Accompanied by a grin and a gasp
    with astonishing ease comes
the release of a then tricky clasp.

A grasping at catches and a clutching of hair
    the past’s taboo forgotten:
    experienced desire laid bare.

    How familiar the ground,
sure footing and a steady hand over
    each undulating, swollen mound.

The mute dance of before replaced by bliss.
    Now sweating satisfaction:
    then, but a tender kiss.

Gloom Kitty ~ A skin graft to machinery

    Swallowed in water;
    the ocean meets the sky.
    Dilation, breathless,
    no need to comply .

    A tremble in your body.
Pins and needles prick the spine.
    Once so relentless,
    a fault in your design.

    Eyes mechanical.
    A skin graft to machinery.
    Have you forgotten what’s inside?
    smeared scenery.

    When did you die?

A quick jab to the ribs,
    yet you are not surprised.
    What do you think?
    Mind chastised.

    I thought you died?

    I’m astonished
    your lips so blue.
How did you come to be,
    perfection askew

    sweatpea ~ Miraculous Light

A roaring thunder, a lightning strike
I tremble as I watch the sight
Black and cold is the sky
I sit alone throughout the night
The rain comes in and dampens my face
I stand to my feet, I dance and spin
The lighting flashes out like veins
This astonishing event is where it all begins

    MarcG ~ Apathetic

    I am a waking nightmare
    I scare myself to sleep
    My presence makes you tremble
My soul has sunk so deep

I do not need to heed you
    My sky is faded black
You miss the person I was
You want the man I once was back

    Astonishing how quickly I
    Was hated for my honesty
I am the man I always was
Yet bear no mask of sympathy

AWR ~ And Man Cried Out

    And Man cried out,
    cried out to God,
    in anger and despair.
    Raised fist to sky
    and shouted loud
    “Do you even care?”

    Then shone a light,
    a light golden,
    that filled the sky above.
    “What ails you, son?”
    God answered him,
His voice filled with His love.

    “My world is sick,
    sick and dying,
    and nothing do you do.
    You watch men kill.
    You watch men die.
What kind of God are You?”

    Sad was the voice,
    the voice of God,
    it trembled with His tears.
    “I feel their pain,
    their hurt hurts Me -
    their sorrows, all their fears.”

    “Then do something!
    Something!” Man begged,
    He fell upon his knees.
    “Save us all. Send
    Your Angels down.
    Let them answer our pleas.”

    “Oh, My poor child,
    child of My heart,
    that I just cannot do.
    The world does not
    belong to Me.
    It all belongs to you.

    “Mankind was born,
    born of My love,
    inheriting the Earth -
    the horrible,
    the astonishing,
    for better and for worse.

    “You have My trust,
    trust that you will
    abandon childish ways.
    That you will heal
    the world yourselves
    in nearby future days.”

    And as the light,
    the light golden,
    faded from the sky above
    Man stood with pride
    and looked upon
    his world with renewed love.

    He knew at last,
    at last understood,
the task was his to bear.
    The world belonged
    To all mankind.
It was up to them to care.

AwfulBigAdventure ~ It's Hot and No One Swims - A Triolet

On the first hot day since the missionaries moved in
by the window I sit, viewing the apartment pool.
Against orange sky they return again, at 6 PM
-on the first hot day since the missionaries moved in-
helmets dripping sweat, shirts clinging to their trembling skin,
their buzzing AC: costly, astonishingly cool.
On the first hot day since the missionaries moved in
by the window I sweat, viewing the apartment pool.

    Rickie Writes ~ passion

    astonished with your beauty
    you trembel in my arms
    bathing in the sun
    on hot sand we sizzle
    looking up to the sky
    toes curl...
    Oh god! Oh God!
