Since most of you probably don't feel like reading a huge text wall about a new member's personal life, their traumatic childhood, and how they found their spouse cheating on her with the family dog... I'm just going to try to keep this as short and sweet as possible: *I'm slightly "dark". Most of my stories have an eerie vibe or reflect the twisted side of me. *Despite that, I'm also very bubbly, optimistic, creative, and friendly. *I am currently working on three stories right now quite vigorously (I have a dozen ideas--I can only work on so many at one time). *I can speak Norwegian. You may also notice I'm 12. Ignore that--age is merely a number as the saying goes.

Posting your own writing for people to comment on should not be among the very first things you do here. It is worth taking the time to see what other people have done to improve their writing, and see if some of it applies to your writing as well. That is part of why we require members to review other members' work before posting their own for review. On the other hand, there are no restrictions, other than content and copyright rules, on showcasing your work in your member blog. Also, be aware that posting a piece of writing on any public site, including this one, will greatly diminish your chances of selling it for publication. Removing the writing later does not alter that fact - once posted, it is irreversibly considered published. So do not post anything more than a small excerpt of any piece you are planning to submit for publication. If you haven't explored the site yet, you should probably do so soon. Newcomers often gravitate to the Lounge, the Word Games, or the Review Room, but there is much more to be discovered if you poke in the corners. Remember to check out our FAQ as well, and be sure to read through the forum rules, too, to avoid any misunderstandings or hurt feelings. Respect for one another is our principal mandate. As for the Review Room, new joiners often wonder why we do things a bit differently on this site than on other writing sites. We emphasize constructive critique as a vital writing skill. Training your eye by reviewing other people's work helps you improve your own writing even before you present it for others to see. Therefore, we ask members to review other people's writing before posting work of their own. The Review Room forums on this site, therefore, are true workshops, not just a bulletin board for displaying your work (and on that note, please only post each item for review in one Review Room forum). Welcome, Xylie. Sounds like you've got a lot going for you-- especially for your age. When I was 12, girls still had cooties, Star Wars was the only thing worth talking about, and I could barely speak English.
Argh, the child prodigies get younger and younger! I'm terrified! I remember a time when they were all 14! :/ If they carry on like this, I'll be 30 and 6 year olds will be out-writing me. :/ Um. Welcome?
Thanks for all the warm welcomes! I appreciate for the flattery, Naiyn and Melzaar (if I may call you that, anyways) but compliments make me cocky and no one likes people with big egos. I prefer to be a likeable character, if ya' know what I mean. ;D Anyways, I'm really liking this forum which is a rarity--forums with many users are actually a bit of a turn-off for me. Definitely planning to stick around for a while.

Your introduction post definitely made me chuckle and with me being at work (another slow night doing nothing) I definitely needed a good laugh. Best of luck with the stories. If you happen to post anything, I'm always a fan of reading dark stuff, as some of my writing is characteristically dark as well -- wherever the writing takes me is usually where I feel I need to go.
