    I don't know. I had 212 this morning and I'm sure I didn't add to 212 threads in a week

    They get added automatically, if you have it set that way. You probably get notified of every updated thread that you ever participated in. If you don't know how to turn them off, this should work:

    Settings -> My Settings -> General Settings -> Default Thread Subscription Mode -> (select) Do Not Subscribe -> (save)
    Settings -> My Subscriptions -> Subscriptions -> (delete them all)
