Hello writers I am about to start writing a non-fiction book which I have been researching for years. I'm exited! I am also putting a bit too much pressure on myself as I have so many creative ideas I want to thread into the tapestry of information, and I want the writing itself to be beautiful. . . I am used to writing poetry and songs, so an informative book is a challenge, but I am ready to give it a go! Hoping to find my voice in a new medium, develop new writing skills and revive the delicious daily habit of writing which I stopped doing about 10 years ago and finish the book! Nice to meet you and share journeys/ joys/ bumps along the road P
Hi Persephone, and welcome to WF! What topic are you writing about, if I may ask? Here's our New Member Quick Start to get you started. See you around! -Kat
Thank you for the hellos , my book is about a lesser-known figure in Celtic mythology who I have been basically obsessed with for quite a while now I want to share my research and my excitement about what this legendary woman is all about. All I have right now is a structure outline and a load of research. Gearing up to start putting some meat on the bones soon . . .
I'm not sure if you are aware of this, but nonfiction books are sold on proposal. Your proposal will probably end up being 50 to 75 pages and on top of that you are going to need two sample chapters. I strongly advise not writing too much of the book before you sell a publisher on the proposal. They often want things a little differently than planned. Even if you wrote the whole book, you are still going to need a book proposal to get an agent or publisher interested.
