Project Cars for the PS4 Mmm, just what I need to help me concentrate on my writing - a computer game
Couldn't resist buying this when I saw it in my local newsagents today. I thought the Americans were getting a good deal with their $10 Walmart Zippos, but this beats even that. I won't be collecting the series, though. Next issue is £9.99 and then subsequent issues are a whopping £19.99
Mario Maker, Metal Gear Solid V: Phantom Pain, and Saints Row The Third: The Full Expansion. I'm content, gaming wise, until Fallout 4 is released. <nudges> I think you meant a video game. The PS4 is a gaming console, not a computer. Also, join the Dark Side. Learn to use the power of gaming as a procrastinating tool. Muwahahahaha....
Technically, a console is a computer, just like a smartphone and even calculators (some of them, anyway) is a computer.
You're absolutely right! There has to be some sort of Central Processing Unit somewhere within a gaming console to tell all the different components of the machine what to do. Something has to read the disk, something has to power the console on and off, and something has to be able to talk to the controller and interpret all the button mashing and stick moving and translate it in a way for the game's code to understand.
Yeah, consoles do have CPUs, GPUs, memory, and now hard drives; however, they're similar to laptop components in terms of size and capability. Laptop components are smaller and aren't as powerful as a desktop computer component. Also, they don't tend to last as long as well because the components are smaller, they are more susceptible to deterioration from temperatures and stuff. Overall, a console will never be as powerful as a desktop computer, but are technically the same in terms of components.
A bag of BAGELS, a new notepad praise the lord, a bottle of value gin, a green rubber duck as big as a bird's egg just because it was cheap and cheerful. I like miscellaneous humorous objects.
My last purchase was "The girl in the Spider's Web" by David Lagercrantz. @DancingCorpse That green rubber duck sounds quite fun, aha. What about getting yourself a giant rubber duck for Christmas, just as the worlds largest weighing 1300 pounds? ;D
I just bought myself a Dell Inspiron 2-in-1 13" 7000 series. My wife and I are doing a bit of travelling and I am loathe to go without a computer and my 17" gigantalaptop is not portable. The Dell is a good machine, but build quality and other sapects are a bit inferior to my daughter's Acer equivalent. But I got the Dell from the Australia clearance outlet at half the price of the Acer. No complaints whatsoever. When writing, I like to block out excessive noise and I bought some Bose ANC earbuds which are brilliant. Actually, they're not. They're brilliant! I connect to my music library via a Bluedio i6, BT dongle, which ia great match and I bought it from Aliexpress for about AUD$20. I get 5 hours of playback between charges at a minimum.
Normal by Graeme Cameron - a lovely book. It was funny in slightly painful ways A Lunette Model 1 menstrual cup. I've had it for two months now, and I love it. Best money I've spent in a really long time. Ladies out there that have periods: Look into it! (The Lunette was a good fit for me, but you should do research into other brands with sizes/materials/stems/etc. I can help if you've got questions)
Bunches of stuff for bathroom renovations. Registers, light switches, dimmable LEDs, drawer handles for the vanity, etc. etc. etc. I hate doing renovations.
Amazon voucher for my birthday, with which I purchased the following: Paris Texas (BR); Teen Wolf (BR); Crystal Fairy and the Magical Cactus (DVD)
Sheepskin bomber jacket - myself. Before that a self help book to quit smoking to my uncle's long time friend for his birthday - he's more like family than anything. It's an ongoing gag of sorts because Rich used to smoke as much as a train, stress.
An ear stretching kit: surgical steel tapers and plugs, sizes 14g - 0g. Should arrive in the mail Tuesday.
Since the 21st of September up until last night, I have sought out and downloaded 281 books from Amazon.com in a range of subjects of interest. Primarily things I never studied and have little to no understanding of, including politics, law, economics, reasoning and psychology. $0.00 books FTW! Now I just need to read them all...
A great big batch of AA and AAA Duracell batteries, because we have tons of devices in the house that use them and we keep running out. Avengers: Age of Ultron. (Not bad for a silly superhero movie.) Chappie. (A huge disappointment. A bad movie on many fronts.)
