Two books; For Love and Courage: Letters from the Western Front 1914-1917 and Life in Victorian Britain.

Never gonna read 'em... never gonna read 'em.

Nice comfy shoes! Two pairs of Skechers Relaxed Fit that actually fit me. Woohoo!

Also, "Jurassic World" on Blu-Ray. No spoilers; I haven't seen it yet.

Today: a big whack of kitchen appliances: gas cooktop, gas oven, microwave, refrigerator, dishwasher. Lotsa money out the door, alas.

Last tiny purchase - breakfast this morning. Was commuting to class so didn't have time to make anything.

Last major purchase - new bedframe.

Called in at a new Poundland that's just opened near me and bought the following:

    • Twin pack stylus pens for tablets / phones (one's telescopic): £1
    • Paperback book (The Drop-off by Patrick Quinlan): £1
    • DVDs X 4 (Ocean's Eleven; Ocean's Twelve; Pirates of the Caribbean (CotBP); Pirates of the Caribbean (DMC): £1 each

I couldn't believe the quality of films for a £1. Usually in the types of shops, the dvds are things like Great Railway Journeys and Origami for Beginner, but they had loads of top blockbusters.

I wanted a small molle pouch type thing to hold all my meds and blood testing gear. Really liked the Maxpedition Anenome, size-wise, but £25 for a little canvas pouch is just silly - considering what I'll be using it for - so I persevered and found this for £12 :)

My last purchase, just last week, was:

    A Walther PPQ M2 5".

I took basic pistol in a class last Saturday (but I have military experience) and my trainer was impressed with how I handled a .22. I told him my shooting would probably not fair as well with a higher caliber, so he packed up his training pistol, loaded the last of the .22s in my training pistol and he left to get 9mm rounds. He came back, unloaded his hollow points, loaded the FMJs and handed me his personal sidearm, a Walther PPQ.

Again, it was a good showing, so he said it wasn't the caliber. I tried a .40 Sig Sauer 226 and my shots were low, so I asked to try the Walther again.

I decided then to get a Walther 9mm PPQ M2. My background check went over in like 5 mins (I have a very clean record at 51, an honorable discharge and held a secret clearance) and I walked out with it that night.

This is my first gun. I load it only at the range, though I keep a magazine of hollow points in the case.

As I'm sure you're aware, legally owning a gun in the UK is nigh on impossible for the layman, but a couple of years ago I was desperate to get my hands on a decent, gas-powered air pistol. I can't remember which it was I wanted now, but I just couldn't bring myself to stump up £70 for it.

It's pretty easy to get a gun here in the US. As I said, my background check went through in like five minutes, but I also have absolutely no felonies or misdemeanors. I should have also qualified the weapon as a 5" barrel. It's a full sized hand gun as opposed to the usual 4" barrel compacts that we see so often here.

I simply missed shooting on a range as I did when I was in the army (I'm a pretty good shot), though it goes much quicker now. No more hundreds of soldiers needing to qualify on one day.

Godiva chocolate bar. Imagine it to be about 1 inch by 3 inches by 1/4 inch. That's about the size of the chocolate bar I bought for $3.50. For a chocolate bar of that size, that is pretty expensive. However, it is that good.

I'm been pretty good saving my audible credits. Until now. I bought the first Harry Potter book as soon as it was released on Audible, then used my credits for 2 and 3. Finished them in a week, so I went ahead and bought the 4th and 5th.(should have done it the other way round, ik . . .) That should keep me until the next credits. Hopefully. :D Times like these, I'm happy my job is so mindless, it allows me to listen to my iPod for hours on end.

New wallet since the last one's zipper broke. It's clunky, but it looks good and has lots of storage space. Most importantly it was cheap. :p

Perfuuuuume! After debating it forever, I finally bought the smallest available bottle (7.5 milliliters) of Guerlain Shalimar pure parfum.

A semi-smartphone, a shark onesie, and daffodil bulbs - the last of my Christmas shopping, at long last! I had to borrow from family to get the last of it done. How I hate this season!

Last thing I bought (if you don't count convenience store) was yesterday, ordering like 1000 steel rings, so I can join them together as links and make that which chain mail consists out of. I know 1000 rings is just a tiny piece on a chain mail shirt, but I just want to make something the size of my hand, something to play with like a stress toy. I heard it feels super good. Been watching a bunch of youtube videos recently so I got all psyched about it.

Got my first pay check from a new job that doubled my income today.

    I also live in Seattle.

So my last purchase as of an hour ago was a 1 gram pre-roll, and far to many bags of chips.
