    Your opinion

Discussion in 'General Writing' started by urgentcare, Apr 20, 2013.

I could use a fellow female's opinion. PMing isn't helping so I figured I'd ask here. I'm reading a novel where two women kidnap a young man. One woman has her hand covered over his mouth to keep him quiet while he is rendered helpless and tied up to a chair. I'm wondering if a woman's hand is big enough to cover a man's mouth to muffle him. Does that sound feasible to you fellow females in your opinion?

If yes and you were to cover my mouth from behind, what portion of your palm would be up against my nose in your opinion?

What would I sound like as I tried to protest against your hand?

I have a fairly small face and dainty lips if that helps;)

    Don't mean to sound like a blonde...lol

    Thanks everyone:)

I'll be honest, I was trying to help you, but your PM's took a bit of a creepy turn. Maybe try not to use phrases like "my" and "you" when you're talking about a character. And don't say "I could smell your hand" and whatnot. In reference to the posted question, I've already answered that and I don't think it's that hard to figure out. Put your own hand across your mouth and muffle it.

Holy crap, I missed that! I thought so too!

Actually, just looked, and you referred to yourself as "Adam" in the PM. Doesn't sound like a chick to me.

And I see "Adam" also sent a PM to a new member - KattGee. Something smells rotten.

    mmm. What's going on UrgentAdam...
What is the deal with this scene?
Are you a guy or a fellow female - are you writing this scene, or imagining it?
What is the title of the book you're reading?

And why am I having a déjà vu? On another forum... I'm sure this has happened on some other forum.

Apparently the novel is Dean Koontz - Deeply Odd.

I got a strange PM as well. Naively answered him and then he asked more strange and creepy questions. Learned my lesson answering PM from someone with no posts.

Ditto. Thought he was just awkward or something, so I ignored the warning bells. Forwarded it to a guy friend on here to see if I was paranoid. I wasn't and my friend is probably STILL laughing at the desperation of this guy.

I'm pretty sure that there is an identical thread to this somewhere on the forum, same question and everything. I'm getting Deja vu to...

    This seems odd... :/

well i just got a PM a few minutes ago and i gave info despite the creepiness. though i think i may scare him and other people... sorry, i like nitty-gritty details and they help to keep in mind for self-defense :D

-punch upward at nose -bone breaks and goes up into brain (fatal)
-bash palms together at enemy's temples (can be fatal)

Well I answered - but it turned, as others said, creepy. He kept insisting - what noise would I make with your
hand over my mouth - Warning bells went off, so I asked what do you want? A scene I would write? ( and for
what magazine I was thinking Penthouse? ) - I never got what he was asking. I answered the plausibility question -
but he was asking it as if he was writing it or maybe just trying to envision it - ugh.

I only had the one initial email, I sent an answer, and he sent one more, to which I replied that he should ask the forum because this isn't something in which I would have any particular expertise, and he'd be more likely to get some better answers from the forum as a whole.
The only additional info he gave me was that he was 5'7" and 155 pounds, with a small face. He did indicate he was Adam, and said he needed a female's opinion (implying that he was not female, in addition to the name).

Then he posts that the PMs weren't helping (thanks for the kudos).

Weird. At least my exchange wasn't weird enough for me to think he/she was some sort of psycho, but I don't get what he or she is getting out of this. But people do plenty of things I don't understand.

Also, he said he was "reading" a novel, as he said here. I asked him if he meant "writing" since I don't understand the confusion if he were merely reading one. He didn't respond to that question.

It was also kinda weird that when I ignored him/her, s/he sent a reminder. When I check his/her page and saw that some of you guys had checked it too, I was like... okay, s/he's trolling a bunch of us... then I asked from which book s/he found the scene and even got a reply to that. A pretty convincing dude/tte though.
