So, understandably I haven’t really been spending a lot of time writing over the holidays... I did get some time in reviewing some stuff though, so time was still well used. I‘m still undecided about which work I should focus my attention on revising at the moment. I’ve written quite a bit and feel like my stories cannot be bolstered much further. Maybe I’m wrong about that though. An outside perspective will be valuable. No idea how to tighten my writing further or correct content errors otherwise. Have you ever been stuck, not knowing how to proceed or unable to do it on your own? Being dependent on someone else, anyone else really, is nerve-wrecking. Frustrating too. No on else will ever feel the same urgency to address issues that you do. Maybe overcoming this is what some call possessing stamina, or drive. I have no new ideas at the moment, the old stories still ghosting through my head, but I’m certain this won’t last forever. I want to finish these stories before the passion for them leaves me entirely. Signing off...
First entry, huh... Well true to the directive to write something incredibly original, humorous and authentic, I will now attempt to write down something interesting. No pressure, of course. I‘m a full-blown nerd. Like the stay days on end in the basement and avoid the sun like the plague kind, while reading a book a day or watching two seasons of a show a week. At least that was me as a teenager. Now these behavioral characteristics (my girlfriend calls them cave tendencies) are somewhat less pronounced. Half a year away from finishing my second bachelor degree, employed at an IT company, two years into a relationship (no idea why she keeps up with me, I’m a trial), I realized something was missing. Creative writing gave me so much when I grew up because I love stories. The best thing about writing is that you can do whatever the heck you want with the characters. *laughs maniacally* So after I realized the missing thing I started writing again this Summer after years of resting my creative muscles. (Since then I’ve finished a romance novel, a sci-fi novel, an urban fantasy and a short story) ...so suffice to say it has been pouring out of me like rum out of a drunken sailor‘s bottle. I like stories about strong women, so that’s my main avenue. Since I’m gay, some (though not all) of my characters tend to be gay or at least flexible, too. My main objective is to portray it as subtle or tasteful as possible because I’m not a big fan of explicitness. (blame my German roots) Not that there’s anything wrong with explicitness, but I would suck very badly at writing about it, so I don’t even try (better for all of us) Other than that I love almost any genre. Sci-fi, Urban Fantasy, Romance, Thriller, Horror are my favorites. In that order. I'm looking forward to reading something original. And to join all the other fellows here who just enjoy writing and reading interesting stories. And on that note...signing off.
