My high school library has decided that, until March 21, if you can come up with an excuse, any excuse, your library fine will be forgiven. That being said I really wanted to participate, after all the best excuse wins a month of free coffee and muffins. I didn't even have a fine but I was allowed to give an excuse anyway. I was on my way to return my library book but Gandalf told me I had to return the ring to Mordor so I went on a quest with my two Demigod friends. On the way home the government made me take my aptitude test and I found out that I was Divergent. My companions helped me go into hiding but I accidently ended up in Narnia when I hid in an old wardrobe. After I found my way out I decided it would be better if I went to Hogwarts because 'there aint no place safer than Hogwarts'. While I was at Hogwarts a group of Shadow hunters found me. With the new runes I learned I felt safe enough to leave Hogwarts and return home. I was able to defeat Janine and the Erudite and here I am to return my book. Wow... that's essentially fangirl vomit. Books Borrowed from: Harry Potter series (J.K. Rowling) Percy Jackson series (Rick Riordan) Lord of the Rings trilogy (J.R.R. Tolkien) Divergent series (Veronica Roth) The Mortal Instruments (Cassandra Clare)
I was sitting on the couch with my mom watching 'Now You See Me', starring Mark Ruffalo , and surfing the web. I opened up Writingforums.org and moseyed on over to the forums tab. When I opened it I saw the thread 'writing erotica' so I did what any teenager would do. I opened it. I mean, wouldn't you? So I'm skimming the thread, trying to find the first post. And suddenly it his me. I'm reading about erotica. And my super strict mom is sitting so close that she's making my right side too hot. As Merrit makes Henley an offer for 'cheep, meaningless sex' I freeze. Slowly, as not to create suspicion I close the thread, getting rid of the evidence. I start to write this post. Of course, the typing attracted her attention. I had only gotten to 'starring Mark Ruffalo' before she looked over and asked me what I was doing. There was the blog post's title in all it's glory. I mumbled something about AP Psych and closed the post so quickly she probably thought I was looking at porn or something. Anyone else ever have something like this happen to them?
Ever have that moment when you realize that you might be about to trash the novel you've been working for the last two years (on and off) and pretty much start over? I'm not quite literally tearing out my hair (but I'm pretty close) as I try to move my plot along. I have the middle and end written but not the middle and there seems to be no conceivable way to connect the two. I've considered a different plot structure (keeping the main idea the same) but that would mean I have to scrap the ending. It's terrifying.
