Love Is

  1. Love is....? ‘Love is an emotion of strong affection and personal attachment (1) in philosophical context, love is a virtue representing all of human kindness, compassion, and affection. (2) Love may also be described as actions towards others (or oneself) based on compassion. (3) Or as actions towards others based on affection. In English, the word love can refer to a variety of different feelings, states, and attitudes, ranging from generic pleasure ("I loved that meal") to intense interpersonal attraction ("I love my partner"). "Love" can also refer specifically to the passionate desire and intimacy of romantic love’
So what is it really, what is the one you feel the most? What does it mean to you? Love has so many meanings that people don’t always know what it really means. Love is an easy word. I love you, I love food, I love that song... it’s easy
L’amour... ‘Love means a feeling of affection and attachment to a being or thing, which drives those who feel a close look at, which can be physical, spiritual or even imaginary, with the object of that love, and adopt a particular behaviour (more or less rational) accordingly.’
I think the French have a better understanding of the original meaning. It can make you ‘adopt’ a particular behaviour (more or less rational)... love makes you mad, it makes you act less rational. Everyone knows when you’re in love you do things you normally would never do
L’amore... ‘Love is a feeling deep and intense affection, sympathy and agreement and pointed at a person, animal, object, or to a concept, an ideal. Or it may simply be a pulse of our senses that pushes us toward a particular person.’
The Italian’s have it spot on... its deep and intense. It’s a pulse towards someone, that special person in your life, the one you say ‘I love you’ to or should you rather say ‘Ti amo’ or ‘Je t’aime’ as the French say it. I know when the English say ‘I love food’ (just as an example) the French rather say ‘I adore food' they keep the world love more personal, more special.
So what is love really? It’s deep, intense, it makes you a little crazy or ‘less rational’ and it’s something that has sympathy... something that allot of people need but don’t always get.
