My Spartan Mother

  1. Whenever I return home after a blood-bathed battle, with a spear impaled through my chest, my Spartan mother unhesitatingly rips that spear out of me and slaps a band-aid on each wound. Then she says, "Ready to go. Neeext! What are you still doing here? Move on, move on!"

My Spartan mother is a peaceful person but for some reason she has been preparing me for war all my life.

My Spartan mother never taught me how to swim. She didn't drop me in deep water. I did this myself accidentally. She knew I wouldn't drown. When I reached the land she told me, "Good! Now you know what it's like, so figure out your own swimming style."

My Spartan mother is a paradox-fierce warrior. She always wins the battles for others, but she always loses the battles for herself.

My Spartan mother can sense trouble coming from many miles away. She welcomes it with a sincere, warm smile and a sincere, hidden knife behind her back. She knows that tables turn and you can never be too careful.

My Spartan mother has only amazon friends and children. Delights and bothers... Bothers and delights...

My Spartan mother got very frustrated when I started rebelling against her. "What a waste of good faith" she had said. She never betrayed me to the authorities though.

My Spartan mother never cries. She only yells.

My Spartan mother hates her mother because she was Spartan too. She is unaware of this though, which is quite mind-blowing.

My Spartan mother gets a kick out of having too much on her plate. She always orders seconds and thirds and... anything to keep this joint going.

My Spartan mother is a hard worker and always motivated. I guess that that's our big difference.

My Spartan mother speaks to me only about problems and problem solving. I sometimes make fun of these problems and belittle her reasoning. I love to make her laugh.

My Spartan mother gets irritated whenever someone tells her how much I look like my father. She insists that I look just like her, even though it's obvious that I don't.

My Spartan mother has a big heart. Too big for her own sake. She loves in her own way and I sometimes forget that.
