Blog it!

  1. So blogs are pretty cool things. Generally.

    Sadly, their special status has become too common. What was once interesting and cool, 'check out my blog,' has become a catch phrase that inspires rolled eyes, yawns, and sometimes jeers.

    What can change it back to cheers?

    Perhaps more effort put into the content. This blog post, being a first (and a last?), has the chance to inspire others. Or, like a wave coming to shore, it may end up as nothing. An ephemeral non-entity.

    Like so much of the blogosphere.

    Sharing thought, in any form, should be cherished. Instead it has become mundane, simplistic, and far too common. What passes for content is simply unedited thoughts, given and left to rot on the internet.

    We need new thoughts.

    We need better thoughts.

    We need more effort put forth to make things worthy of reading. So come, enjoy this, and many more blog posts with impunity. Share your own blog posts. Add to the content that people so willingly create, for free, and share with the world.

    Don't waste the chance to make the world better, though.

    Don't stop writing your blog because you think it mainstream. everyone wants to read what other people have to talk about :D

    A lot of people also roll their eyes at people who say "check out my blog!" because they know that in a lot of cases, people don't stick with it, or they commit to too much and can no longer keep up with their promises.

    I've had blogs in the past - the plural means I had never the commitment to continue on but later decided I'd start fresh! ha ha! so much for that idea!

    Anyway, I liked these thoughts on Blogging. As Juju said, don't stop writing your blog because you think it's mainstream:)

    This is a different attempt at blogging for me. I hope to add something to most discussions I participate in, either in blog or community forums. I just hope to keep it a bit more interesting than the standard fare.

    Continuing onward and forward in any effort can be rough. Just ask the millions of people who haven't checked their myspace in a few years. :)

    Heartwarming post, heh. Gives me hope. Blogs are awesome when done well, and luckily there are plenty of very interesting and useful blogs out there by fellow writers. You're right about putting some effort in them. And why not, any writing is useful for an aspiring writer, right?

    At first I felt like, what would be the point of keeping a blog here cos I keep up one blog already with my co-writer T.Trian, but then I realized that here I can write more about "my stuff" while our joint blog is more for "our stuff," and because I love putting words into strings, yeah, why not pollute the blogosphere of CWF too :p
