First Blog...

By Shadowstar · Aug 3, 2011 · ·
  1. Well, I've never written a blog before but I guess it's sort of like keeping a diary, only not so private. I'm still pretty new to this site so I'm trying to familiarize myself with stuff. I'm really not sure what I want to be when I grow up, but I might want to become an author. I've always loved reading and I remember when I was younger that adults were sometimes surprised, even impressed at the things I read. Even more so that I understoof them completely.
I don't think it was until second grade that I even thought about writing my own stories for fun. A friend of mine wrote alot and so together we would write stories about things we did. We would pretend we were spies going on missions, especially whenever we went on a field trip somewhere. If I ever do become an author, I will most definitely have to thank her, for first getting me interested.
Well I guess that's it for my first blog, hopefully I'll get better at this.

    Hello Shadowstar :)
So much of what we do in life goes back to something that created a spark in us when we were young. It's fabulous that you have such good memories of writing already. I hope there are many more to come for you!

Which goes to show just how very important our behavior is. We either encourage or tear down. The slightest act which might seem insignificant from our own viewpoint might have far-reaching consequences.

    For example:

I remember once as a teenager when I was visiting my aunt's house and her husband's nephew and mother were there. The nephew had a few too many and began insulting and shouting. I looked over at the uncle which I knew was violently disposed as if to say

"Hey! How can you take this?"

He got up and floored his nephew. A few years later I heard that his nephew had committed suicide by setting himself on fire.

How much did that event have to do with it? How much did that certain look I gave my aunt's husband have to do with it?

Had I instead tried to bring peace, would the fellow never been led down that suicide road? Only God knows. Nevertheless, the consequences of our actions are definitely far reaching and places a great responsibility on us in terms of how we affect others.
