Freestyle

  1. I think this might be what I'm looking for. I've tried blogs before but I'm not that interesting. Takes a lot of talent to have viewers & get a few replies. Not that I need replies, but you know what I mean.

Maybe a blog within a website will be different. At least I can fool myself into believing someone might be taking a look now and then.

I'm needy - but please don't abuse that remark. :)

Now I'll press create & see what happens.

I tried Facebook but my gosh I was updating my status every five minutes.

    I'll try a poem.

    Flashback

She stands in a red dress
    covered in faded roses
    and dried dirt.
    Blood trickles down her leg
    past her bare feet
    to a wood floor
built from her daddy's oak tree.
    Her blue eyes
    are the shape of almonds.

Sorry! I inserted a link & the rules say No Links!

Just as a reminder to myself the link was about Internet PTSD: "Drama" is not "Trauma" from The Havoc Journal.

There are a couple of pieces here I'd like to respond to but I'm not comfortable with protocol yet so I'll respond here as a reminder & maybe elsewhere later.

"War" by Lance - I was just thinking, as I read, peace is impossible on earth because we are limited by human nature but as individuals we can achieve peace if we want it bad enough. Really enjoyed reading his views on that as well, and then loved the way he ended with his view regarding compassion.

Further thoughts: For example, I may be a Christian and you may be an atheist but if neither of us forces our views on the other we can coexist peacefully - compassion at its best?

The most serious crime ever committed against Christianity was when the wrong people (very wrong) used it as law. Imo, not something God would ever do. Wouldn't you rather someone love you by choice rather than force?

Also want to respond to the article by Francis Aguilar on Superman. But will do that later when I have more time.

I need to get the names & titles correct!

There's something about 'rising above' & 'taking the high road' that I haven't quite got my grip on yet. It's about walking into a room or going to church or work or logging on to a website & keeping my head high & ignoring all the petty crap going on around me. I'm happy to say I'm working on this!

I think what bothers me the most is that some people think that humiliation & degradation of an innocent person is a way to help someone else or a 'cause' of some kind. It's so painful to the person whose never really done anything & it seems barbaric to me.

Like I said, I haven't quite got my head wrapped around a lot of things. I'm not sure I'll ever understand that. Not sure I want to.

The interesting thing about this movie is that when it came out it was a new idea. Not so much anymore. But I still like it because I like Diane Lane.

    Sasha and Buddy

Sasha and Buddy are both addicts. Sasha is addicted to coffee and telling silly stories. Buddy is addicted to women but mostly Sasha. Buddy likes to be silly too.

I can't even describe how much better it feels to be free than limited by the prescriptions and notions and doses of other people. But who do I need to remind more than anyone? Myself.

I just want to scream, I can't be you! Stop trying to make me be!

    How much?

How much worse can it be?
    When someone you care about
    is bisexual and gets off
on a woman with multiple personalities
who wants to murder you all the time?
    Depressing.
But I suppose it all makes perfect sense.

    Freedom

    I know it's impossible.
    I keep trying
    and for that
    I apologize.

    My hope
    is that no one
    is penalized
    for my efforts.

I've learned this isn't possible. Really sad, isn't it?

I can do this! If I don't look to the left or the right. With a drink in my hand.

    >ashamed<

    but happy!

If you try to hurt me I don't have to look!

This is really all I care about.

    I want a little freedom
when I write, when I speak,
I want to be inspired again.
I've been so upset and worried.
I don't want to be that way anymore.
    Please, have a little mercy.

Do you want to know what hurts
    more than anything?
It's not the so-called love connection
(because there's no such thing on the internet).
It's when people don't care about ridicule,
    about cruelty, about suffocation.
And when you support and encourage
    those that are that way.

    For God's sake.
    Please stop. :(
