Green

  1. 'It's not easy being green' a wise old singer once proclaimed and I know where he's coming from.
I am a published writer of short stories and poems but a total novice at writing novels and I am struggling like crazy.
I know how to capture brief moments of time like poets do but the immensity of scope a novel entails is driving me mad.
Shaping such massive concepts in my head just isn't working and so I think I will just start and keep on going and see where it takes me. I am just not a structured person but I will prevail!!

Poetry and short stories have structure. So in light of your being an established poetry and short story author, I think it's safe to say that though you have limited (if any) experience in novel-writing, you won't have too much trouble (if any at all) in finding your flow with the longer stories/novel(s).
Chin up, my friend, stories longer than 2,000+words are easy once you get a good idea in your head ;) Despite not knowing you from Adam, I have faith in you. If you have the drive, well... "Where there is Will, there is Way..."
    Good luck =)

Anytime! I just thought it important to point out that everything has structure to it. I understand the grief of writing a long story, but I think once you realize the pattern you want or your story needs, you'll overcome and prevail ;)
Sometimes all it takes is just a little relaxing, stepping back, and absorbing the bigger picture.
