Back to my acoustic, or to be precise, back to my new acoustic. I've never liked my Dreadnought 'tank' ever since taking delivery. The strings are too heavy and the bulk and size of the body makes it perhaps the most uncomfortable thing I've ever held. My new toy is actually an electric acoustic, with a rounded back, and already I can feel it's just what I needed to rekindle my interest in an acoustic. The body is barely larger than my Les Paul copies, and has strings that require hardly any pressure to fret. It also has a thinner neck than most acoustics.
It's not all good, though. I plugged it into my Vox Pathfinder amp and got nothing. Doesn't matter what I do with the knobs on either guitar or amp, there's no difference to the sound whether it's plugged in or not. The guitar came with a battery and the battery check button confirms everything's okay there, so that's not the problem. I know strictly speaking I should be using a dedicated acoustic amp, but from what I can gather regular amps can be used too, so I don;t know what the problem is there.
Not such a biggy, though, as I didn't choose it for it's electric ambitions. I've tuned it and it sounds just great to my ears.
