Ideation

By Wreybies · Dec 8, 2018 · ·
  1. Sure, I’ve had suicidal ideations.

    And so have you.

Saying you haven’t is a lie.

    You know it’s a lie.

    I know it’s a lie.

We both know it’s a lie.

    Everyone has thought of it.

    Everyone.

The question is, in fact, disingenuous.

“Have you ever had suicidal ideations?” is not the real question being asked.

What’s really being asked is: “Are your survival instincts still sufficiently intact so that you lie to me (and likely yourself) with respect to the answer?”

    That’s the real question.

What is an 'ideation?' Oh, I just looked it up. You mean 'thinking about committing suicide?'

But I really haven't, if by "suicidal ideations," you mean considering suicide, even half-heartedly.

I believe there are people who have never even entertained a "what if I quietly exited here?" scenario. Pragmatists usually who are not interested in the big questions. Just get on with it mentality.

The only way I've ever thought of suicide is to think about what kind of scenario I'd have to be in. for me to want to. I have never contemplated it as a result of any scenario I was actually in. But I could see me wanting to if I was in constant pain, with no hope of relief (such as a terminal illness or some sort of disability that couldn't be cured.) Possibly after an apocalypse, if there was no way to keep body and soul together, and I've lost the ability to believe that bad things will improve.

I also think age has something to do with it as well. The older you get, the more of your productive life is behind you. The more opportunities for independence and change are behind you. Death no longer seems scary. Dying is always scary. But death? I find the notion of immortality scarier than death, at this point in my life, to be honest. Who in hell would want to live forever?

I know what you mean. Eternal anything sounds uninviting. I;m looking forward to a place that is beyond my wildest imagination. (in a good way).

I never lie to myself, and I never tell the truth to the ones I care about.

I made the mistake of thinking like this, and so I mentioned suicide to a friend casually. You know, "You know when you're thinking about killing yourself, but every method you come up with seems too hard? I'm to lazy to kill myself" Something along those lines was said. The conversation got...awkward real quick.

It's almost like disclosing a sexual taboo that you thought was normal to the world. Damn that Cat is SEXY! Am I right guys? G-guys?

Well, it's like Camus said, before you do anything (like come up with ideologies,
philosophies, or otherwise give some kind of meaning to life), the question
you need to ask is: Is life worth it?

I was pulling your chain because of L'Etranger read by teenage girls like me back in the day standing on a beach with a gun in my hand. Just silly.

Honestly, go out with a bang, and you won't be alone. :p

On the cereal, I remember sharing my folly into suicidal thoughts.
Not my shining moments, and not going to retell that sad story again.
You have to find a reason to live, cause there is plenty of time until you
get to the Exit sign any ways. Nobody gets out of life alive. :)
