My life....

By bleedingpaperheart · Feb 8, 2009 · ·
  1. I am really self consious sometimes. I sometimes feel like my "friends' arent really my friends. Does anyone else feel like no matter how hard they try, they will never have a true friend? Thats why I like meeting people on line. I wonder sometimes if i'm interesting, or attractive, or cool enough for anyone. I feel like i never fit in, even if i try and im nice to people they still dont like me. :( I feel liek i cant bring my real interests up because noone else will be interested.

Coming from someone who's been there (and back again, and back again, and back again...), honestly, honey, one of the best things you can do is to be yourself, which it doesnt sound like you are. You sound as if you're closing yourself off to 'fit in' with all the other kids, and it makes you unhappy. If it scares people away because you are yourself, so be it. --Then at least you know that they weren't your friends in the first place, and acting as you want to will open the door for those who want to listen.

I promise you, there's someone out there who will listen. ;)

I disagree. The WORST thing you can do is 'be yourself,' as Mercurial suggests.

If you are 'yourself,' you are hated, despised, loathed, detested, shunned, scoffed at, scorned, ridiculed, tossed aside and quickly forgotten, or even sooner, if the people can help it.

Here, though, people seem to warm up quickly to newcomers, so I haven't felt like a complete outcast.
I do worry that my willfulness will interfere and dishearten people toward me.

I hope, my friend, that you find your place in life, in much the same way that I have not.

I agree with Mercurial. Being yourself will draw true friends to you. If you're not yourself, people will be drawn to you for the wrong reasons and are more likely to despise you when they find out the truth about you.
