New Years

what else can i do but smile

another year ends and another one begins and i would have hardly noticed if people didn't make such a racket about it

i could talk about looking back and changing, but new year's never was about that for me

it's just food, friends, family, and fun

after that, it's on to the next day

maybe the day after turns out to be better than the last

but if i must

i hope nothing bad happens in the future

and tomorrow is better than today

and whenever the bad may chance to happen

i hope i can always find my way

and so

to my future

and all the things in store
