Please welcome to the podium...

Hello! I'd like to start off by introducing myself.
My name is David, I'm a high-school student living in Southern California (in the valley), and I am one of the countless numbers of people who gathered inspiration to write a book (and hopefully, carry through with it).

I've just recently come around to the idea of writing a book after I read the three books in Christopher Paolini's Eragon series (Inheritance Cycle). I realized that.....(with no offense to Paolini).....Eragon was just another, typical, fantasy novel (which happened to get published). I figured that if Paolini could combine teenage angst along with blood and gore in a fantasy world, and have it published, so could I! Even if my (currently non-existent) book wouldn't be published (which is likely), it'd be a fun experience in the end.

To get to my point, I just want to say that I looked for a forum, like this one, where I could chat with other people who have the same goal that I have. I figure it might give me some motivation.
