Returning to stories...

By SliverXII · Jan 28, 2011 · ·
  1. Last year, I began to dabble into writing stories. I had a lot of frustration due to the fact that I had put far too much expectation on myself. With my hopes so high, I folded under the difficulty I was having.

I have returned to the same books that I was working through a year ago, Painless Grammar and Immediate Fiction. I like each of these books and feel they will help me get a decent restart. What is different this time around is that I have smaller expectations. I still hold some high goals I would like to see accomplished, but I am not rushing myself. I am enjoying the ride.

Eventually, I will begin sharing some of my work here. Right now, I will lurk and absorb what I can.

I know how you feel. Except I was genuinely crap and needed to mature - But I can definitely identify with a 'returning' aspiring writer!
