The Australian National Anthem, Re-Written

  1. For best results, sing to the australian national anthem tune... :)

We’re known for barbeques and fun
Flies come in hordes and droves
    Sausages sizzle out the back
    Cricket for men and boys

You’d think we’d get sick of the sun
Of the dust and dry heat
But that’s just part of our lives here
And it’s a part of me

There is no snow come winter-time
    Just clouds and driving rain
Then spring arrives and new life comes
    Soon summer’s here again

This is the heart of my home land
Rain, sun and that red dust
Our big old gum trees standing tall
    Their shadows dance at dusk.

A breeze of wattle scented air
    The waves upon the sand
    The beauty ripe and uncontained
    Australia, our land.

I actually have no idea what the Australian National Anthem sounds like! I guess that's cause I'm not Australian. :p

The lyrics sound fun though. :D

LOL! You got it in one there. Definitely goes well with the way the anthem is sung :p

Haha. Excellent, whenever I sing it (which isn't often) I'll think back to this :)
