The Irony of Writing Terms

By Wreybies · Jan 30, 2020 · ·
  1. That those of us of pen and word
    cannot agree is just absurd.
We say a thing and that is that,
though I mean dog and you mean cat.

We enter into Show & Tell,
two terms ripped from the bowels of Hell.
And down the rabbit hole we go,
so much think and little know.

    Some say Show is dialogue;
a chat that’s had twixt cat and dog.
    Detail, others think it is.
    Megapixel spin and whiz.

Others say it’s just a myth,
for tales are told, lest I’m remiss.
And some will granulate - they do
to just a word, a letter, or two.

All this faff and running ‘round,
with no agreement to be found.
    Conclusion drawn from wild surmise,
and no one holding the grand prize.

For all of this is easy peazy.
    Don’t complicate, no lemon squeazy.
Though I doubt that I shall influence,
flat fact is Tell - Show is evidence.

Tell is fact, show is evidence. Can't argue with that. Now ...the trick is to recognise which is which.... :)
