The new world

  1. In my current work I am working on the world has moved on. Due to circimstances beyond anyones control the world has shifted and with it so has the climate. While no one knows for sure what happened to the other continents America is a changed place. Below is a map of the new climate zones of North America.

I see the image is hard to read unless you zoom in on it... oops

'The world has moved on' Are you aware this is from The Dark Tower novels by Stephen King?
  3. Rassidan
I am aware and I don't intend to use it in the novel itself. I just like saying it that way.

@ Lemex, WOW, I was thinking the exact same thing, but not because of the quote. I was looking at the map and I saw the huge American desert and it automatically made me think of The Dark Tower series.

But I liked the map, Rassidan. Did you make it yourself or did you get it from somewhere? I like maps for some reason, as well as geography and it instantly got my imagination going on what everything would look like because of it.

I worked out the regions myself since I sort of knew what I wanted. The map itself I found. The difficult part was figuring out the different sorts or habitats and adapting them.

You mean the colors and temperate zones was how you found them or that you found a regular map and changed he temperate regions to how you wanted them?

Either way, I like the idea. Kinda reminds me of the movie Waterworld- extreme climate-changed futures.

I found a regular map and changed the temperate zones. In a way I guess it does fall into that waterworld catagory.

That's an awesome thought still. I was imagining the Rockies all green and towering over a tropical rain forest. But you might have to reshape the coastlines from all the glacial melt and kiss the Caribbean goodbye.
