Communication is a multifaceted space. Words are magical in that they allow us to express, with potentially great conciseness, how we feel, our ideas, our desires or just about anything. There is something to be said for succinctness and brevity but there is also importance in the instance of verboseness. All words matter and relay all sorts of information about the person speaking or writing. There is always something to be learned by word choice. I'm no semantics whiz but I believe that even the innocuous, empty word expressed can be a window to the person's background and psyche.
To be a writer, the love of discovering a new word is extremely beneficial.
