I am completely dumbfounded!
I make Christmas Spiders, (yes you read that right. ) and sell them at craft fairs. There is a legend that goes along with it, and the short of it is where we get the idea for putting tinsel in our christmas tree. It's an old folk legend that originated in about the 1600's.
Anyway, to my rant.
There was an older woman who was selling spider brooches at a fair I was at last weekend. Fine, they were brooches and mine are christmas tree ornaments. I talked to the woman all weekend, and was really nice to her, I even gave her phone numbers for other craft shows.
Well... yesterday at the craft fair I was in, she was there. I was happy for her that she got in.
BUT, when I went to talk to her at her table I noticed something... she had my legend on her table!!!! She even went so far as to try and make spiders like mine! I was shocked, pissed, and couldn't believe it!
At the show I met her at, when I was taking down my table I noticed that someone had stolen one of my scrolled legends that was there for display. I thought it was weird but didn't think anything more of it... until I saw that woman had photocopied it and was trying to pass it off as her own!
The legend, is readily available on the net, it's not that which bothers me, it's the fact that after being so nice to her she would steal from me, and try to sell them as her own!
The audacity, and lack of morals really baffles me. I never said anything to her, (although now I wish I had...) but I am a firm believer in what goes around, comes around.
Here is a pic of some of the ones I make. Just so you guys can get an idea of what I'm talking about. The legend is in comments.
