If you have a book you'd like to promote on WritingForums.org, you can easily do this, and receive statistics on your promotional campaign. Through promoting your book, you are also supporting WritingForums.org.
You can submit and purchase an advertisement for your book, blog, website, freelance job, editing service, web design service, or other related and appropriate project.
Our ad manager allows you to upload your banner, select the ad location, and choose the duration of your campaign. You can do all this through the Ad Manager in Your Account page. Custom options are also available, for such you should Contact Us. For example, if you want to purchase 10,000 pageviews (impressions) instead of a position in the ad slot for a week.
Companies and organizations have other options but must contact us directly. Your ad will be declined if you are an organization, company, inactive member, or are promoting something we deem shouldn't be promoted in this forum.

If you are an individual and are an active member of our forums, you can purchase discounted advertising to promote your book, blog, or service. Organizations and companies must contact us directly.
Once your on this page, click "Create Ad."
You'll now create your ad. Your Ad Zone is the location of your ad. For more detailed explanations of ad locations, click here. From the Zone drop-down menu select the location you want to show your ad. In this example, we select "Above Top Breadcrumbs," which is above the navigation that shows you where you are on the site.
The Zone also shows you how many slots are available for purchase. There are a limited number allowed per month. The Zone drop-down will show you how many slots are free, and when the next banner will expire, leaving the spot available for purchase.
Under Image, click "Choose File" and upload your banner for your advertisement. Some ad locations have specific banner image sizes. You might not be able to upload a banner unless it fits the proper ad size. More on this here.
Text is simply the title of the advertisement for you, as it will appear in your ad manager. The target URL is where the banner will point - where users will go once it's clicked. Make sure this is right. You can use a tracking URL to gather your own statistics if you wish; however, the ad manager also [does this for you].
Your banner ad is now created. However, it is not active because it is not paid for, or approved. You can create ads up to this point for future dates, and leave them unactivated until ready.
To activate your ad, click "Activate." You also have the option to Edit or Delete your ad. You can create multiple ads and run them at the same time. When you activate, you'll have different options for duration. Choose the price and length that you design. [In the future we'll offer additional options, such as price/CPM).
After you activate your ad, you'll be taken to a page to choose your payment method. Paypal is the current option. Click Pay With PayPal. You will be directed to PayPal, then redirected back to WF once your ad is paid.
The last step before your advertisement is live is that it must be approved by site administration. Once it does, you'll see it active in your ad manager.

Purchasing time period (e.g. a week, a month) for all locations will result in your banner showing 1/10th of the time, or 1/10th of the impressions. The number of spots available in the ad manager indicates the number of spots available to members. At the time of writing this, 1 week's worth of impressions is approximately 10,000 Impressions.
CPM stands for Cost Per Thousand Impressions.
